Hope and his mom Nora as seen in the Play Station 3 video game Final Fantasy XIII.

A brief history on these two characters from the game, is these two were caught in the middle of a war where they had to either be recruited, or.... else.
So while they were in captivation, it was up to them to take on missions that were coming up during the war. Nora bravely took one on and when the recruiter (Snow) asked her if she was sure, her statement was "Moms are tough". So they went in to a mission together, and she didn't make it out... so for the rest of the game, Hope was left traumatized yet had to work through it and help a team of heroes end the war. (Hence, the existence of Final Fantasy XIII, lol!)
Nora is crafted from a generation 1 Sweet Heart Sister pose.
Hope is crafted from a generation 3 Avon exclusive pony, which has a hard tail and looks just like a McDonald's pony, only is bigger and has the softer rubber of a regular sized generation 3 pony. I cut the tail off replaced it with pony hair.

It was quite interesting taking on that new kind of mlp base, but here are the results:
Now for his mom, Nora
Both have full body repaints in acrylics, eyes are also acrylics layered in realism textures.
Nora's mane and tail are rerooted in butter creme dollyhair pony hair, silver bullet barbie hair, and "meghan" katsilk restoredoll hair.
Hope's mane and tail are re-rooted in all mlp dollyhair in the colors of nickel, raincloud, white witch and butter creme.
Nora's outfit is hand-sewn. Sandals are all brown leather, detailed in acrylics, ribbon and hemp.
Pants are inverted faux white vinyl, hems are stitched real white leather. Detailed in blue rope piping and neutral blue ribbon.
Black lace sewn for the leggings, under the pants.
Beige sweater is a knitted material, sleeves of sweater are detailed in leather strips and a ribbed sheer beige material.
Green sweater is olive green material, with a sheer green scarf material stitched at the bottom detailed in a green rope material that I unravelled. Blue shirt is bias tape detailed in rhinestones, lined in the ribbed sheer material. Broach accessory is leather with metal hoops, wire, rhinestones. Pink sash on the green sweater is a velvet ribbon material that I cut, detailed in brown ribbon.
Hope's outfit:
Started off with authentic beige leather for the boots. Hand-stitched in black thread. Black leather for the soles, lined in black ribbon and black maxi piping.
Pants are a stiff cotton material detailed in black ribbons, lined at the bottom with ribbed black sock material, bag is black leather detailed in black ribbon.
Shirt is all yellow leather. Bottom and sleeves lined with white bias tape, detailed in yellow bias tape, a gray zipper, and metal rhine stones. Collar is lined inside with beige leather. Orange bias tape was used for the mini cloak accessory under the collar.
Teal kerchief is bias tape of which I hand-drew the detailing on with black permanent ink.
Gloves on front legs are black and white leather. Orange sheer kerchiefs tied at tops of gloves.
Hair styled on both, with my hair gel method, permanently.
