Mod Podge for sealing?

For anyone who's used Mod Podge for sealing, do you thin it out with water first or just use it as is?

I use it as is, but I know some people will thin it out.

I thin it down with water to make it thinner and to make it go on smoother. I'm in a very hot, humid environment though so I think that affects th outcome too.
