G1 Magic Message Pony

Heyo! I bought a cuddles magic message pony a few years ago, and on the listing it said that the magic message part still worked, but I never got it to work, and soon after I just put her in storage. Now that I'm cleaning out things, I want to sell it to someone who'd appreciate it more, but I can't help but wonder if I just never did it right? I've just heard that heat makes it appear but if I press a finger to it nothing happens. But then again, I have really cold hands? How sensitive is it supposed to be to heat? Is there any way to make it work or is that part of it just lost?

It's harder to get them to work after all this time, in my opinion. You need to cover the area for a good bit of time to get the underlying symbol to be vaguely visible. When I find one in good condition like this, I generally just don't mess around with the symbol.

I wish I had known the one I was gifted was a magic message. I threw her into oxyclean bath with a few other ponies since she was a mess.. and lost her symbol. I didn't realize it until after. Sad.

But a warning to others, dont' use oxyclean on the magic message ponies!

Yea I agree. These symbols can be delicate, and a lot of them have the color change stuck so all of mine show their hidden picture permanently since they no longer work. Hers seems to look really nice so I probably wouldnt attempt to heat it anymore than your finger to avoid ruining it.
