So I was at a thrift store this week and I came across an incredible buy! It was a Japanese Uchikake kimono. Otherwise known as a Japanese Wedding Kimono. It's fully embroidered from top to bottom, with gold, silver and other various colors of thread. It has got to be the most beautiful article of clothing I have ever seen but ... it smells like Old Lady... yuk. So how do I safely clean this thing?

This is similar to what it looks like, but it's even more vibrant. I just can't get my cell to upload pics at the moment because I need a new one:

Its beautiful! A dry cleaner might be your best bet.

Iono about cleaning it but you might could put on a hanger of some sort and let it air out in a area where there not a lot of sun. It might smell less.

Oo good idea. I got it hanging in the pony room which is my spare bedroom for now... oh my gosh is it stinky!!!!

I bet my ponies if they were real would all be holding their noses!

The links were to place on how to clean it.

I just know that out of the sun and a good breeze will help some.
There a cleaner a friend of mine used on her wedding kimono but I can remember what it was. I just know cold water and hand washing and line drying were done to.
