I've been buying and restoring some ponies lately and I got my hands on a very roughed up Tex and went for the challenge.

He's got tiny brown/black spots on him. I think its some kind of mold that got into the pores. I gave him an overnight oxiclean path completely submerged. I think it lightened them, but they didn't go away. Any suggestions?

I've been working on some ponies and there are some that I just CAN'T get whatever stain is on them, or the symbols have worn off (milky way has been suffering from light pollution, if you get what I mean). A summer wing i have from my childhood is in PERFECT condition except for one black dot (i think some mold, not a marker) right on her knee and its all i can see. I really want to paint over them, are there any suggestions on what paint and maybe some tips on painting?

Have you checked out mlppreservationproject? There are tutorials for some things on here, too. That looks like pin dot mold and I believe they say to sun fade... your winger with a black knee might come clean if you scrub inside. As for repainting on Milky Way. Skybreeze is really good at restoration.

Scrubing on the inside? Its just on the surface it doesn't bleed through. Ive tried scrubbing it with water and dawn soap, I tried subfading which did nothing but change the area around it; I stopped when I noticed the edges were whitening.

As Tak has already mentioned, the MLP Preservation Project is a fantastic resource when you are restoring ponies.

Your Tex has "smooze" and it takes a bit of finger nail power and scrubbing to remove it. I always find soaking in hot water and a bit of Oxiclean helps the process a lot. But restoration of MLP takes a lot of time, dedication and lots and lots of patience. No need to paint over this. :)

As for your pony with the black spot, it sounds like it may be a cancer spot. This will only go away with sun fading and this process takes weeks, months and in some cases years. When you sun fade with H2O2 developer creams you should always cover and protect areas of the pony you do not want to fade and most do require multiple applications of the cream and typically more than a day or two sitting in the sun.
