Gothic Lolita Rarity - Rarity is now sold

Generation 1 pony figure customized into generation 4 My Little Pony Friendship is Magic’s Rarity design.
gothic_lolita_rarity_by_lightningsilver_mana-d7up6vw.jpg

Pony base was a generation 1 twinkle eye unicorn Speedy- body has a base coat of Gesso to secure the full body repaint. Repaint is multiple layers of white acrylic paint. Eyes are painted in my realism/fusion style, I in-set sapphire-colored jewels and permanently fixed them in with Gorilla glued, which is sealed with a thick layer of Tacky glue.

Cutie Mark is true to Rarity, with some gothic embellishment.

Mane and tail are re-rooted in dollyhair’s nylon mlp hair in the color ultraviolet, and pilot hair purple to blue. Which means the color is originally blue, but when the pony is put in the freezer for some seconds, the hair turns a nice bright purple and it turns back to blue when warmth touches it.

Hair accessory- started with pleating some of the black cobweb lace material, stitched some ivory lace over top then made 4 silk ribbon bows from all the colors of ribbon used throughout the rest of the outfit. Detailed in a black rhinestone orb, a costume jewelry bow at the front, and black chains on each side of the head with matching rhinestone crosses that match the boots.

Dem curls. M’kay, took like 3-4 applications of my hair gel solution to get the things to cooperate. Dx

Worth the work though~

Outfit- Started with the boots on the hind legs. Used a thin black striped cotton material, stitched medium light purple bias tape along the upper hems with a layer of periwinkle blue lace at the top. Stitched dark blue silk ribbon bows on the backs. Soles of boots are thick black leather lined with a shiny black patent vinyl. Laces are white silk ribbon with black hemp cord over top in a cross patter. Cross, blue diamond and metallic silver rhinestones detail the boots.

Skirt around the tail- stitched a nice stiff navy blue material with double-layered pleated black cob web lace at the bottom lined with a black grommet trim detailed with ultraviolet purple ribbon bows. Lined the sides with faux black leather lace. Finished with tying a dark blue bow ribbon on the tail.

Torso piece of dress- sleeves are blue and purple mesh material stitched together with the medium purple bias tape, with pleated black cobweb material lace at the tops of the sleeves. Detailed in dark blue ribbon and medium purple hemp cord, and ultraviolet ribbon bows and pale blue ribbon bow. Finished with a layer of the periwinkle blue lace and cerulean blue chain with black rhinestone orbs.

Across the chest I used the same navy blue material as the train lined with the faux black lace trim along the neck. Bottom portion of the top is black velvet lace pattern material lined with powder blue maxi cording at the bottom with matching blue silk ribbon bows. A trail of rhinestones connecting the torso piece along the back of Rarity, to her tail.

Craft description-

Pony base is a generation 1 snuzzle, but from the 2007 anniversary mold.
Original body color kept, removed the pink heart cutie marks with Acetone.
Eyes hand-painted in acrylic paints in various textures in my realism/fusion style.
Octavia’s cutie mark also painted in acrylic paint and sealed.

Mane and tail are re-rooted in dollyhair’s nylon mlp hair in the colors hematite and black magick with RetrodollUS’s monofiber coal black hair. Bangs are glued down into place permanently after hardened with my hair gel method.
Accessories are antique broaches and costume jewelry I Gorilla glued in place with 3 strands of beads strung on wires, and a few pearl rhinestones to finish.

Outfit- started off the boots. Stitched babypink cobweb and bias tape to mauve cotton material with beige suede over the fronts, real pale beige leather for the soles and a Persian patterned fabric on the backs of the boots that match the corset. Pleated silver ruffles sewn at the tops.
Finished with pale blue ribbon and tiny metallic rhinestones.

Corset- main bodice is the Persian patterned fabric, crushed beige velvet material pleated with ruffles lining the bottom. Stitched some white lace on the sides.
Cut a slit in the middle, did a pale gray cross-stitch for detailing and added black oval rhinstones.
Used a darker mauve cotton material for the under-belly strap of the corset, hand-stitched strips of the beige suede and glued a paler mauve hemp cord over top. Lined with black vinyl lace, and gold chain.

Collar- Used a black jean material that has gray pin-stripes on it, and stitched the vinyl black lace along the edge. Then white bias tape with pink bias tape tied in a bow stitched to the front.
Pleated a pale baby pink ruffle across the chest, lined it with tan bias tape. Detailed it with crystal, pearl and metallic rhinestones. Two strips of beads strung on wire are fastened on both sides of the corset.

Bass instrument- Two layers of authentic beige leather. Charcoal black acrylic paint detail on the front of it, handle is two strips of black patent vinyl the top of it is the same leather rolled up then fastened to the black handle. Knobs are toothpicks painted black with pieces of black leather.
Strings are floral wire with a rectangle of off-white of leather glued underneath, and a T-shaped piece of thin black leather over top. Silver metal cone-shaped bead piece fastened at the bottom. Bow is a stiff thin brown leather, two layers- with a strip of thick beige elastic sandwiched in-between.
