Hi Everyone
I want to make another Gingerbread house for this Christmas, I made my first one last year.
I'm trying to find pictures of it no luck so far but I think my Nana probably took some.
It did manage to stand up my little brother helped me make it (he isnt little little just younger than me ) think we used a bit too much icing to make it stick together because we were worried it wouldn't but it did . Did looked good though because it looked like snow
So this year I want to make another one & make it better than last year I made so much food & sweets last year. This year I am focusing on doing a Gingerbread house, Yule log, Truffles & My bacon & cheese mini puffs (those were gone with in a few seconds of putting them out last year) '
I was wondering if any of you could help me with any ideas or tips for a Gingerbread house as I'm still new to it. If you have any recipes that would be great too
Any templates for a Gingerbread house that I could print out would be very helpful too, I made my own last year & I'm not sure where I put it now lol.
I know it is still awhile till Christmas but I need to plan this house out now so that I can get everything ready, I won't be making it till about the 22nd of Dec though as I will be making my boyfriend help me & he doesn't arrive till the 20th of Dec.
Last year I made glass windows for my house I want to do this again but I want to know if there is a better way to do it. I cut out the window shape in the walls before then filled them in with hard clear but colourful candy so when the gingerbread baked in the oven those also melted. This did work perfectly but the problem is the back of it, I use edible paper on the backs of the window so the candy wouldn't stick to the tray, I tried to get most of the paper off afterwards but it didn't come off easily so the glass ended up being smoky rather than clear.
Any ideas & help would be much appreciated
If anyone has a recipe for a Yule/Christmas log that would be very helpful too
Thank you
