Just wanted to make g3 customs of g1 Bow Tie and Ribbons in my style, but more like how they appear in the original 1980’s mlp cartoon series~

Took creative liberties in color choices, so nothing’s an exact match probably~

Ribbons- pony base is a generation 3 shy pose with a base coat of Gesso to prep for the paint, and a full body repaint job in hand-blend of acrylic paints.

Eyes hand-painted in my style, tried to catch a eye position from a screen cap from the show.

All paint sealed in Artists Varnish.

Horn is severed from a generation 4 white Princess Celestia pony (used for a previous commission of Lightning in the Guardian Corps attire)

I carved a hole in the base of the horn, and a hole in the pony’s scalp then took a tiny screw with a loop at the end of it and anchored it through the scalp, and Gorilla glued it inside the horn then sealed the loop inside the head with Gorilla glue. Secured the everything with Tacky Glue.

Cutie mark is the white ribbons from the original pony, but I made them 3-D by pinning silk ribbons in place and topping them with rhinestones.

White ribbon tied in tail.

Mane and tail re-rooted in dollyhair’s nylon pony hair in the colors electric banana, guacamole and candy apple red. Added the guacamole to give a more neutral toned down green like in the cartoon, and candy apple red to tone down the red closer to the cartoon as well.

Styled with a hair dryer.

Bow Tie- pony base is a generation 3 donkey pose. Chose this to match a position she was in, in one of Bow Tie’s most popular screen caps from the 80’s cartoon.

Prepped the pony in a base coat of Gesso to give the acrylic paint a texture to adhere to, and did a full body repaint in the same hand-blend acrylics as Ribbons.

Painted the eyes in my style but in position as the cartoon, sealed all the paint work in Artists Varnish.

Cutie mark is 12 individually cut pieces of pale pink silk ribbon I tied into tiny bows then pinned in place to make her cutie mark 3-D. Topped them off with rhinestones.

Mane and tail are re-rooted in RetrodollUS’s nylon pink hair in the color powder puff, then some recycled magenta hair from another generation 3 pony. 3 yellow bows tied in pigtails for the mane and one on the tail.

Styled with a hair dryer and curling iron, bangs and pig tails are permanently hardened/styled in my hair gel method.
