I, in advance apologize if it's not so interesting to more experienced collectors, but as a newbie in this sphere, I found this quite intriguing and just wanted to share this find
Some background on this: I bought this in small local shop in Hungary in the late 2010s ( don't remember the exact year ), there was a G1 themed MLP box that had a G1 MLP mug, a small plastic pony toy and some candies.
The company behind the mug was BonBon Buddies ( the domain is no longer up, therefore, I am not 100% on whether the company still exists ), after doing some digging, BonBon Buddies seems to have been legit and had the license to produce MLP merch, it produced some candies featuring the G4 ponies and you can see "Hasbro" written on the mug.
The mug itself is of pretty good quality!
The pony is made of pretty flimsy plastic ( doesn't smell though ), it's clearly inspired by G1s but not exactly like them and smaller than the average pony.
excuse the staining, I haven't had acess to her for long time.
The toy is interesting to me since despite BonBon Buddies ( seemingly ) having the proper license, the toy itself has no indicator of having been produced by Hasbro.
I know it's hard to make out but she has "sweet toys" carved on the back of her neck in the 2nd photo.
The pony and the candy actually seems to have been produced by dulce-vida, who appears to be exclusively hungarian ( thank god I kept the tag )
Maybe it's not some big mistery but it certainly was weird amalgamation of companies and turn of events I wanted to share and I felt like it was worth documenting, especially cuz it's so EU-centrict and might fly under the radar.
