Ever accidentally thrown something out?

Just realized I messed up pretty badly. I posted earlier today about a lot of ponies I got from someone’s basement (they had fleas and were super gnarly), and I was in such a rush to fully clean them and use advantix spray that I wasn’t fully thinking.
Three of them had braids held with little rubber hair ties that literally dissolved in my hands and stained their hair. Two of the flutter ponies had metallic old ribbons, which I promptly took off and threw in the trash, thinking nothing of it….
…. Until I was on the wiki trying to figure out which ribbons to give them and realized they were the original ribbons from box  I’m kicking myself so hard and the trash was already taken out. Is it crazy that I went and checked the dumpster? I’m ashamed of myself *sigh* I guess they get generic ribbons.
Anyone else done something like this? I feel so annoyed with myself right now :surprisepony: I need to know if anyone else has been this thoughtless

Oops, you didn't mean it. And also, who is mean enough to sell things to unsuspecting customers with fleas?

Aw, maybe you can find some similar ribbon, and they can have some new pretty bows in good condition, but that still must be frustrating :sadpony:
I accidentally threw out, donated, or lost my childhood G1 Catnip the cat from the Brush Me Beautiful Boutique. She somehow got lost in a move and I'm pretty sure got accidentally donated with some other toys. I cried when I unpacked and couldn't find her where I thought she was. She was the only childhood MLP thing I had left. I tried buying a new one but it just didn't feel the same. The same happened after a subsequent move with a pair of Beanie-type holiday reindeer toys that were quite special to me that I think I accidentally threw out with some old shabby Christmas decor.

I accidentally threw out a crucial part of my blinds I recently installed. Had to call and lie, saying it wasn't in the box to get new ones shipped.
I hate it when I throw things out, no matter the items! Several times I had to dig through the trash to get it back (even took a dive in the dumpster, ugh)

My aunt accidentally threw out a 50 dollar winning scratch off ticket in the trash one day and I had to go and pull the bags out of the dumpster and dig through them to find it. Luckily they still accepted it even though it was covered in garbage juice.
Oh no! Glad she was able to recover it and they still accepted it with its pungent fragrance.

I like us all begrudgingly admitting we dug through the dumpster

I've been there, don't beat yourself up too much. Many, many years ago in my early days of collecting I got a huge of G1 ponies. Going through it all I found several little "hair ties" that I just thought were old little hair ties and threw them away. Only to later discover they were the little elastic bands on the baby rattles *DOH*

I am losing my sleep because I couldn't find my early childhood Rainbow Flash and late childhood Royal Rose. I absolutely hope I can still find them, and they didn't go into rubbish somewhere.
