Hey you guys! I was just wondering if you guys could help me out with something?

I am planning on dying a couple of ponies. One I want a light blue and one I want a nice bright yellow. My question is, are there certain base colors I should use for this dye job? I was going to use white ponies, but I hear that they fade very easily after dyeing. But I can't think of any other color pony to use since combining colors wouldn't turn out too well for what I need...

Also, can I dye nylon doll hair with RIT and Dylon dye? Or do I need something else?

Do you guys have any tips on dyeing ponies since this is my first time?

THANKS EVERYONE!!

Depending upon the blue you want, you could use a white or a RainbowDash's shade of blue pony. But for yellow you need a white. It's easier to darker a light pony correctly than to try to change their color.

As for the hair, yes RIT does work. You'll have to lety it sit for a while though because it washes out really easily. And if you don't wash it all out it can bleed (just like when you dye your own hair!). I've not used Dylon (I think...that might've been the stuff that didn't work) but with Rit that's what I know and have done.

Hope that can help ya hun

What LLB said. I tried Dylon for both hair and plastic, and didn't have much luck. It was a rose or mauve color, if that helps.

I used the midnight blue RIT and noticed it seemed to fade out rather fast on the body. You may need to do several dye baths to get a really rich, deep blue.
