Has anyone dyed flutters?

I have a Rosedust body that I've tried to dye a light golden orange color. I've accomplished a Wind Drifter yellow. Of course the body was body was acetone scrubbed, wash, UV/H2O2 faded, and washed again.

Dye used: Regular liquid Rit Golden Yellow and Rit Sunshine Orange.

I've referenced the preservation project, the links from it, past threads here, other youtube vids.

I've tried adding vingar, salt, more dye, only orange dye, and even packed it all up last night in a container and left the pony soaking.

The orange simply isn't taking.

I don't want to paint because the middle of the wing mechanism.

Is there another trick to getting it to take in a G1? Are orange/red tints harder to work with?

You use rit dymore for plastics :)

See, that's what I wondered but most people are suggesting that for hair and HQG1C.

My local stores have have blues, greens, pinks, and black dyemore. I'm concerned that the flimsy seal won't survive a Amazon bubble mailer..

Here's a thread just from last year: https://www.mlptp.net/index.php?threads/dyeing-a-pony-lots-of-questions.117194/

@LadyMoondancer any tips for G1s?

Bit of and edit: I tossed the pony and dye into a container before bed Monday night and left it there until yesterday evening. A bit of the orange was taken up and the color is about the middle color of the emoji gold-yellow :)

I'm not sure why a cold soak worked better than a couple hours of heat.

Rit Dyemoore for plastics as Twinkle mentioned. With a drop or two of dish soap. Takes about 15 mins or so to fully take the color.
The plastic bit on the flutters will not take to the dye, that will have to be painted.

Well, I checked 5 stores yesterday and was able to find 3 of the colors I need of Dyemore. I had to order Apricot from Amazon. Hopefully the seal on the bottle holds up.

I don't know why no one keeps a full stock of colors when many clothes are synthetic fabrics now.

I intended to try permanent marker on the post to avoid filling the mechanism with paint. The post doesn't touch anything else, so sealing to prevent ink transfer won't be an issue. The top of the post is safe to paint/seal.

Update... attempted the Honeydew color measurements on the Rit site to get something close to Applejack color. Did only 5 minutes and ended up with a dark pumpkin color. No yellow took, only orange. I'm using oxyclean to at least lighten the color for painting.

So if anyone uses the dyemore to make a shade, the darker color may be the only one that takes..
