Customizing a Gumball Machine?

Do you think it would be possible to customize one of the My Little Pony gumball machines? I got one, because they're super-cute, but I really wish it were Pinkie Pie... Which led me to think, "Hmm... could the gumball machine be customized?"

I'd like to hear what other people have to say, and any possible suggestions, before I try and do something stupid and ruin my cute gumball machine Pony God. n_n

It should be possible. All you'd have to do is re-paint it.
 
But what about the hair? It has real hair... @_@ I'm not sure if it's possible to re-root one of those things about damaging the mechanism that makes it dispense gumballs. I was hoping someone who had one of the gumball machines and was a frequent customizer could look it over and give me an educated opinion, nyu.
 
Maybe if you were careful about it, you could dye the hair? Just a suggestion. :)
