I want to make a custom of my persona Sunset Star (see avatar)<~~~~~~~~

I'm going to use flutter pony honeysuckle. However, for the silver swirly things, I want to use glitter glue to make it stand out. Has anyone used it and how does it work? Does it dry good or leave the pony sticky? Thanks in advance

I have never used glitter glue on a pony before but its essentially just PVA with glitter mixed in right?
 I dont think it would cause any problems for you but maybe try it first on another bait pony you may have lying around?

See I don't know exactly what it is. I've used it on those fuzzy posters, and it didn't leave anything sticky. But I'll probably try it with a bait pony first. I'm not really custom skilled...lol

lol good luck with it anyways - sorry i wasnt much help! :D
i look forward to seeing her on this board in a few weeks time.... :D

Lol, thanks for trying! I'll try and post pics of her when she's done....IF she's not a total train wreck...lol

my only concern about using the glitter glue would be that it might be able to be peeled away from the pony to easy. It does harden and is not sticky with it's dry but the grip on plastic is not all that great and the pony material might be even harder for it to adhear to.. I would say try it and let us know!

LDD

I never even thought about it peeling away...thanks for brining that up. I'll still try it on a bait just to let you know. But I'll probably just use paint :)

Have you ever worked with..

Modeling Gel or paste?? Liquidtex makes several textures of it. An 8oz (237ml) bottle/tub thingy costs around $10. This kind I have here is acrylic based, and safe to use on ponies/dolls. I have used the gel type as well as the harder ceramic type kind. The gel would probably work best for you, it stays a bit soft, but not smudgey and it wont peel off. Also, you can either paint it when its dry, or add color/glitter to it and then apply it. I recomend that. They used to have a website-- www.liquidtex.com I have not been to the site in a few years, but it may still be up and running. Good luck!!

*hugs*

Honestly Galaxy, I'm not too great with customs either, but if you're talking about the kind of glitter glue I think you mean, won't it be too thin?

Well, here's my idea: you know how when they paint things in the street, like "STOP" and handicap sign, they use giant stencils and tape them down. So what I would do is, after the pony is painted and completely dried, use masking tape and cover the area on the back of the pony that you DO NOT want glittered. Then add your glue (something thin and easily dried), then dip it in fine glitter. Leave it like that, taped, for a few hours at LEAST.. probably 24 if you can wait that long.. and then remove it. voila! pretty glittery pony =)

I was thinking it would be too thin too. But you have a great idea there! I'll try a couple things out on some baits and show the results. Thanks guys!
