Can anyone here Appraise or know of anyone who can appraise a MLP?

Here's the story:
I had bid a while ago on a MB on ebay. His picture showed him in relatively decent condition. So, because I had the money, and decided to treat myself, I bid. And won. When I received him, His head mismatched and he had cancer spots all over him. I complained, and nothing was done. I filed a complaint to Paypal, and paypal needs an appraiser to look at it, and to document it for me.

Can any of you do this, or know of anyone with fast, reliable seervice?

well what's their defonition of an appraiser? if it's jsut someone who is an expert on the product then i'd be happy to help value him for you. If it's something you need a formal certificate for, then i think you're gunna have to go to a company. good luck :)

if you send my pcitures I can do it.

What do you need to be and offical MLP Apprasier?? Too bad there wasn't a college course for that. I would have scored A++'s.

Here's what they said in their email:

"In order to continue with the investigation of your claim, we must request
documentation to support your claim that the item is damaged or
significantly not as described. Please obtain a document (such as an
estimate or invoice) from an unbiased third-party, such as a dealer; repair
shop, appraiser, or another individual or organization that is qualified in
the area of the item in question (other than yourself), which details the
extent of the damage or clearly explains how the item received
significantly differs from the item advertised. Please do not proceed with
any repairs or alterations to the item, as doing so will limit PayPal'
ability to successfully resolve your claim, and may result in the
cancellation of your dispute. If possible, the document should include a
serial number and description of the item, and the dollar amount required
to complete the repairs necessary to correct the damage. This document must
be on letterhead that includes the name, address, and phone number of the
individual, business, or organization so that PayPal may contact them if
necessary. "

And they go on about faxing information, and that I have a 10 day timeline.

Original Auction is here:

So that anyone can see what they posted and their description. Here are pictures I took of him when I got him. I was really dissapointed :(

The spots are all the size of a pony bead, or about the size of a baby pony's eye.

So if perchance no one can help me here, who on earth can I go to? o_O

I would think someone who knows a lot about MLPs would be fit for appraising him. Maybe find one of the well-known 'elite' collectors? :p

That's what I would think too. I know there are collectors who've been here a long time. I've been here 2 yrs myself, and there are collectors who've been here a LOT longer than me. :)

I do know this pony is VERY prone to fade head to body though - I think that's common knowledge amongst anyone who's had him/tried to collect him.

If you can't find someone here, try the Arena. There are tons of collectors there, too.

how many spots have you found on Thundercloud?

I hate to break it to you, but the seller did mention 2 dots the size of a large pinhead, so I'm not sure how significant you can make the description of the item versus what was received.

The discoloration of the head and body is not mentioned, but in all honesty, I don't think I've ever, in all my years of collecting, seen or heard of a Thundercloud that did not have this problem.

I'm not sure what kind case you'll be able to make given the evidence...but good luck in trying to resolve the issue!

honestly, his head didn't look mismatched in the auction picture. He looked fine in the auction picture. I've found quite a few spots on him- about 5 or 6. I know it mentioned that the spots are "the size of a large pinhead", but a large pinhead fits into that bead.

Ok...being honest here, I can see the mismatched head in the picture. Its hard to see, but it IS there.

I've pmedyou rabid muffins, I can see the discolouration in the head and i found 5 spots from your photos.

I can *just* see the mismatched head in the auction photo, but it is much clearer in your, and it wasn't mentioned. I can see the spots in all but the first photo (unless is right dead center of his side, then I can see it!!). When the peorson said the spots were the size of a large pin head, I think he was right though, I'll take a pic to show you.

The pin was held right up to his hair, level with his eye, they are almost the same size, so the seller is right about the size unfortunatly.
