Brag and a question for Sindy collectors

In ten years of collecting toys I have never once been able to brag about finding the deal of a lifetime. Sure I have gotten some good lots on Ebay over the years, but nothing compares to what happened to me today. A few weeks ago our friends asked us to help clean out the house they bought on auction. It is their first home and they got it for a steal, but the previous owners left a lot of their stuff behind. We agreed without even thinking twice because we like to help our friends. A few hours into the clean up my husband calls me up into the attic where he is bagging trash (aka the previous owner's possessions). He said "Honey, go look in the corner over there" with a huge smile on his face. There were two big boxes of Sindy furniture boxed. I immediately flipped out because I have wanted Sindy furniture since I was a little girl because my neighbor had it. Our friend said I could have it for my personal collection if I really wanted it. I cannot even tell you how freaking happy I am! I got a lot of the things I always wanted, but couldn't afford (shipping from the UK is ridiculous on Ebay). There are a few pieces I still definitely want, but here is the list of stuff I got (with most of the accessories included in the boxes):

* China cabinet - Sadly this is the only thing that did not have the accessories with it
* Bed (missing the head board) with all the bedding
* Bed side table - Not sure if the lamp works because the bulb is missing
* Vanity
* Wardrobe filled with clothes and shoes
* Wall oven
* Sink
* Stove
* Fridge
* Wash stand
* Shower
* Love seat
* A bunch of loose accessories

I cannot even begin to describe how happy I am. Everything is in pristine shape. Nothing is broken. There are even a few pieces to the mail order BBQ set.

Now my questions for the Sindy collectors are:
1.) Is there a good site to buy odds and ends and additional furniture?
2.) If you are in the UK, how much should it cost to ship to Buffalo, NY? Someone had almost a $40 shipping charge for the complete hostess trolley (that I desperately want).

oh what a cool find!! That is quite a bit of furniture and in such good shape!!

I am exceptionally happy. Now if only I can find the few pieces of furniture left I want and maybe a house. The trouble is most of the stuff is in the UK and I am in the US.

I'm interested...because Sindy was primarily in the UK, until later in the line, and in the US Barbie was all the rage, making Sindy things in the US more sparse...so, does that mean it is more expensive because it is rarer? or is it less expensive due to the US popularity of Barbie??

I'm not sure. I can find sweet deals on UK ebay, but the shipping is way too much. Someone wanted $60 to ship an item that is smaller than a brick (for size reference) and certainly does not weigh much at all. I think these people are jacking up the shipping.

I know a store near me that still has unsold Sindy stock mainly MIB furniture/playsets/dolls...from the top of my head they had a MIB late 80s dining table etc. Most of the stuff is from the early 90's tho!? I was there 2 weeks ago looking for G2 ponies for another collector on the arena sadly never found any but noticed there was a tonne of Sindy stuff left! Maybe I could help you out!? Unless its pedigree Sindy stuff you are looking for...

Cool! I am looking for the dining room set and the hostess trolley and some other stuff. I have a want list in the misc. wanted section (I think that is what it is called). That would be rad!

Wow CA, what a haul that was...... amazing for a Sindy Collector.

We had them over here in Australia too.... not sure if there would be anything on Aussie ebay......

Good luck in your search

SS:)

Yeah I couldn't believe it when I saw it. My hubby knew I would be over joyed too and had asked our friend (the owner of the house now) if I could have them before he told me about them. I washed everything (I always do) and I am waiting for it to dry so I can add it to all of my Barbie stuff. My husband is going to help me build a beautiful Barbie house out of wood. I have four of the Barbie plastic houses, but they really do not have a lot of room in them.
