Being a MLP collector struggle

I'm open about my collection for the most part. There have been a few times I've met someone who I thought would react negatively, but in the end when I eventually told them they were cool about it. My family and friends all support my collection, and people who find out for the first time either think it's cool or simply don't care much about it.
Same!! The only people who thought it as silly were my cousin and brother, but it grew on them and they left it alone. No one really judges, as they know it makes me happy.

I have some friends that collect (Rowdy Cowgirl on here is one) and what caused me to start re-collecting was needing something that is more of a diversion and can fill my heart with joy so I could start selling out of my rabbits that I have been raising for 15 years. I want to move out of my parents place that I have been renting from them and the rabbits make it super hard. Most of my friends don't seem to have an issue with it, and I learned early on to not care what people thought. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. My dad is a gun fanatic, he LOVES to load his own ammo, etc. So that's what he does. I sit there and enjoy all my 'plastic ponies' (both Breyer and My Little Ponies with some Grand Champions thrown in for good measure). I just would love to find someone local to show me the ropes of thrift store shopping, etc. I had to sell most of my collection when I was moving back in 2009(sold a lot of things I wish I hadn't) and after 10 years, it's been time for a change! Back to my happiness!

I agree with this. I stopped caring about most things in general. I'm glad you got back into collecting! My dad is a gun fanatic too-(its rubbing off on me, but more so vintage weapons in general, as I love all things vintage XD) So hobbies in my family are a big thing. We all have things that we collect or that get us excited, mine is ponies. It doesn't matter what people think as long you're happy and it doesn't harm anyone. Ugh I wish I could help you thrift wise!! I feel like an expert at this point lol. But if you do have questions I'm here! Anyway awesome that you realized other people's opinions don't matter.
