I just saw a whole bunch of pictures of someone's MOC collection.
Needless to say my jaw was dropped the whole time. But then when I didn't think I could produce any more drool, I saw her; MOC Parasol in German packaging with the hair colors I thought were only used for the 2nd Ed. Rainbow ponies.

I know that Parasol, Moonstone, Windy, and Starshine were re-released that year, but I didn't think anything had changed for them.

But were they released with 2nd Ed. rainbow pony hair? Or is this just a fluke? Maybe just a German thing?

I'd love any information you all may have on this.

Oh cool! Thank you so much, Satinslipper! I have made it one of my summer goals to learn more about international ponies. Any tips on where to read about them? I got Birge's book, but it doesn't have quite the amount of info that I know we all know now.

I thought she looked Italian!

Thank you so much for those sites- the look very informative! I can't wait to learn all I can. I have a few UK ponies, but I'd like to get some from Germany and Argentina.

The International Ebay Auction sites are always good for seeing variants. Really, when I first started collecting them ( some years ago) I just bought was wasnt like what was in the US, and over time acquired the knowledge of the differences... I collected only International Variants for many years. It is easier to collect them nowadays since there is so much more known about them.

Here are some sites our members have put together on various Internationals.

Some starters:

UK: http://www.taffeta.250x.com/ponypage/idhome.htm

Argentina: http://www.angelfire.com/art/peachyfairymoose/Argentinamlp.html

Italy: http://miominipony.tripod.com/

Mexico: http://www.prodigyweb.net.mx/karipasi/index.html

International Ebays/Other International Auction sites like ebay, are another ballgame, there are many tricks to bidding there..... though a whole different subject........ hehe

SS:)

Those are some great sites SS! Also, if you want a quick overview of what diiferent countries have to offer and characteristics they have, the "Spotlight" series that is stickied on th Arena's Nirvana Board is a great read. They are like a reading a magazine article. Great stuff!
