That is SUCH a cute set up! I love the little shelf's on the top, perfect pony size!♡♡I have about 200 ponies in my G3 and G1 index, so probably ~250 including all my G4s, duplicates, plush, and other non-traditional ponies.

I love that!Around 55 including plush. I just started collecting again though and I mostly like Nirvana ponies, so it's a bit slower.
Oh my gosh, WOW! I think you definitely have the biggest collection of ponies for who’s replied here so far. That’s amazing!yeah I stopped counting after the herd grew past a thousand... it's a room full at this point... and it is hard to believe it has been now almost 20 years although I never really thought of myself as a collector until after the G3 stuff came out and I was like "yippeee! an excuse to get my kids toys" that turned into a goal to get every G3 brushable to then discover there were these ponies from other countries = all credit goes to mustbejewel for my first nirvana mexican prince ! After that MDMeet I was definitely hooked 'cause yeah just love we are still finding original ponies in the wild even today AND we now have the most awesome HQG1C crew designing as well as basic fun creating beauties like the celestial ponies so yeah for me the herd is still growing. Don't think I want to count at this point
The fun of discovering the other generations is just that: finding ponies we've never seen before in the wild. Makes me want to design a crew of wild original ponies just to have more of them on the Earth. After that MDMeet I was definitely hooked 'cause yeah just love we are still finding original ponies in the wild even today

I love that feeling too of seeing ponies or pony items I’ve never seen! The fun of discovering the other generations is just that: finding ponies we've never seen before in the wild. Makes me want to design a crew of wild original ponies just to have more of them on the Earth.
And lol on the counting.
I guess from some point it's just a much eaiser way to keep track of ponies which you have and which you want to get than to keep everything in mind. I might not remember all the pony names, for example, and it's really convenient to look in the checklist to remember And you also don't have to count all your ponies each time, if you use something like MLP Merch checklist, it does it for you.On a different note, I feel like many collectors encourage people to keep track of the items they collect in a spreadsheet, a notebook, or just anywhere. Is there any particular reason for this? As I mentioned I don't keep track anywhere and I'm wondering if I should start..
Accessories are fun…I have so many but, for the most part, I can keep track. I have inventory lists on my phone too though and that helps - you never know when you will run across ponies and/or accessories in the wild.I don't remember always what accessories they came with. My first spreadsheet was done when I was a kid to keep track of those, back in the G1 days before wiki's. Then with new additions and extraneous bits like Blind Bag ponies, I sometimes can't remember their names, so this helps. And sometimes you have to ask, is that pony Sunshine, Sunlight, Starlight, Starshine, Sunbright, or Lightshine???
and like ... OH YEAH, I have one of those tiny mommy charms ponies around here somewhere.
Wow! Thats a great collection! I myself keep a numbered google doc with photos of all of my ponies and their sets. I also do this for my other collections such as American girl and Barbie. I find it really helps to know what you have and to see everything in an overview.I've never counted before, and I don't keep track of when I get new ponies, but this thread inspired me to count. Not including plush or Ponyville size or smaller figures, I have 126 ponies, give or take a few. I have 25 plush ponies, which are mostly Build-a-Bears and Softies. My biggest category is G4, with 45 ponies, and then G5, with 35 ponies. I also have some ponies "in processing," ones I have to clean but haven't yet, or ponies that are for some reason not in my room. So the actual number, including ALL of my ponies, may be something over 150. I don't feel like this is a lot but maybe I should..
I keep probably 98% of my ponies in my room, and a good few are in storage. So not every pony is displayed.
