Is this a thing? I read a couple auctions where the seller has oiled the plastic. It looks great, but I feel like this is likely to mess with the plastic. Anyone know anything about this?

I was wondering the same thing. If there was a conditioning oil that was safe to use, I would probably use it, but first, I'd want to know about any possible long term effects or damage that might occur.I've heard of this too. Particularly on deflocked SS ponies. Someone was using a plastics conditioner on them which supposedly left them looking a little shiny at first but would then soak in and the pony would return to it's more matte-ish finish. I asked her about it and she said it was a conditioner used on antique car/plane interiors/seats and that it was safe on the ponies. Now, I don't know how true that is or if long-term it helped, hindered or made no difference but I have wondered about any possible benefits from some sort of vinyl conditioner? Might need to go to the auto store and find a bait.
I wasn't at that point what happened? This takes me back a good 10-12 years to the "oily pony seller" on Ebay! Any oldbies remember that fiasco? LOL

I would be worried about long term effects, too... Look how long people were using removezit and acne creams with no apparent issues, but now 10 years or so later we have all these ponies showing up with issues from it!
I don't remember that one, but I do remember the one who would put "bologna" curls in every. single. pony's. hair and inflate her prices SOOO much because of it.This takes me back a good 10-12 years to the "oily pony seller" on Ebay! Any oldbies remember that fiasco? LOL

Cosmetic hair bleaching cream is all the rage now. I worry about what it will do to treated ponies years later.
