His manner toward LyricalStar ( a respected collector ) is rude and uncalled for.

That's what was edited out of my post at the Arena - me telling larry he was rude to lyricalstar. I don't really see why it was edited though, as it has been proven over and over again that he's rude every time he's called on anything - see examples in this very post!

Ad to make matters worse, here's a post from an Arena member (baby_SPLOSH) who was also lied to by larry:

I decided to make this story public to support So Silver. I was promised the amazing baby Bow Tie that was sold to purple_alice. She was to be reserved “exclusively for me” according to Lars. Like you, I was chocked when I one morning saw an arena post with my future pony in it! This is how Lars treated me as a “returning buyer” that already had made a several thousand dollar purchase with 100% instant payment! I was lucky though, because I hadn’t paid anything for the reserved baby, nor sold items to finance the upcoming purchase. Regardless of my fortunate sitation (compared to SoSilver's) I think this behavior is not to be accepted in our community which I also said to Lars. He initially blamed his girlfriend (!) but when I told him I didn’t find the explanation trustworthy he admitted “I did not completely live up to my word”. We have left it at that but of course my trust in him as a seller is severely damaged (and after reading this post even more so). I do not wish to argue over this any more since he did admit breaking the deal *and* lying about why it happened (2 in 1 deceit??), however, I thought it would be important to show that the way he treated SoSilver was not a one time “mistake”.

I agree with SunnyBreeze, Mandy85 and others,,, we cannot tolerate this kind of behavior just because a person is providing rare ponies. A seller may ask whatever high price he/she wants, it’s up to the buyer to accept or not. However, using dishonest methods and playing buyers against each other to achieve even higher sale prices should not be accepted in our community. I see the arena as a community where we treat each other with respect and honor our words and members who can’t live up to that should stick to ebay or similar auction sites (if they can live up to their rules).

First I thought about not saying anything because bringing these things to light may make it less probable for me to be able to acquire beautiful Colombian ponies. However, the whole thing really put me off buying and for some time even collecting,,,,

I do trust that the Admins take/have taken the appropriate measures. We as members just have to keep daring to expose our stories. It's so much easier to just try to forget,,,

Oh snap.

As bad as I feel for the poor people who get $2.00 for a pony worth over $1000, I know I and some others would happily run off with a MIB rapunzel found at a charitable thrift store for 25 cents.
Fair enough. I'd totally do it too. (Although if it was Punzie I would just turn around and resell her...)
But could you look into the eyes of a starving person whose only possession is the MIB Rapunzel and still only give them 25 cents?
In my opinion those are two completely different scenarios, and only one of them would make the guilt eat away at me.

Oils are bad. Oils are bad for toys. I don't know about vegetable oils, but I figure it's the same. Not only does it break down paint... and probably plastic. Plastic is porous and will take on some of the oil. I have a feeling that boy is very slick, and needs a bath, even if he is original.

Emberly, oils (petroleum) are one of the main ingredients in plastics/vinyls.

I totally agree with you rist, but if I was starving, I'd fork over rare ponies for a french fry

LMFAO!!!!!! Do Not pass go!

whoops! I forgot to say that!

wowww... I can't believe Skeen wasn't allowed to say Lars was rude on the arena...
And like you said- calling someone rude is shunned and kept a secret but selling a pony to 2 people, blatantly lying about the whereabouts of said pony, and just treating sellers like money grows on trees and these ponies don't mean anything is perfectly okay.
it's disgusting.

We found these ponys door-door.. searching in the very poor parts of the city. We searched with the poor people selling items dug out of the trash.. selling these items on the sidewalk for food.
I have provided pictures of us searching these places...

Colombia dosent have anything that resembles a thrift store...

Colombia is not like the USA.....no garage sales either.

The people dont throw away things because the dont buy anything they dont need (typicaly). If a person has a pony the might have it in their home more as a decorative item.

The rest of the story is soon to be reveled... and will completely explain why I have found a special connection that provided me with excellant pony's.

I dont restore pony's... I have no interest to restore pony's and sell them as origional. I have some origional hair from Colombia and would like to find a person who could restore pony's for me... but only if it would be at a profit. You see I am not a collector; I am a business person.

that seems very weird...

Hey guys,
Please don't forget the transaction in question did not happen here. If you have any issues with Arena policies, please contact the mods there. What you are questioning, we can not answer for you here (as I've stated the transaction did not happen at the TP). Thanks!

The more I read this stuff, the more I think this guy needs a hard kick in the ***! This makes me so mad. He's taking advantage of collectors who truly treasure these ponies! He has no respect for anyone, and all he thinks about is himself. Terrible. The fact that he says he's in it for the business and that he himself is not a collector would have set off a red flag in my head. Obviously he doesn't care about the ponies, he just cares about the money. Just because he have access to these rare ponies does not give him the right to treat people that way. He should be banned IMO.

understood. I'm really thankful it didn't happen here.

Wow, this is a real eye-opener! :[ I feel bad for the poor people that Lars scammed! What a liar!!!!!

I was looking at the DS pics of the eBay Mr. Pink and the NV baity Mr. Pink and I've spotted something else that may prove the two are one in the same, but now restored.

Look at the way the trees are printed on the DS of the baity (best seen on the really big pic SS put in her post on page 4, I think), the printing is off set, the top tree nearest the mane has hardly any trunk sticking out from the foliage and its not centered-- the ebay Mr. Pink has the exact same printing error.

Looking at the less baity Mr. Pink the trees are all printed correctly. I can believe there are 2 Mr. Pinks, but I can't believe that there is a 3rd Mr. Pink with the exact same printing error as the baitiest of the other 2. It would be very hard to convince me the eBay Mr. Pink wasn't restored. For the reason I mentioned above and the reasons other members have mentioned

As for the hair issue, as in why would he mess up good hair to make it look worn if he had the pony rehaired? Maybe he didn't have to, he's said in prior posts quoted in this thread he has some original hair from other colombian ponies--maybe eBay Mr. Pink was rehaired with that supply.

Hi everyone.
I'm really devastated and i have seriously thought about quitting collecting ponies after this.
I'm super sure that we will hear soon more bad news about this.
thanks everyone for the support.
M!

I dont think at first it was to scam people, but to sell ponies as a profit.

Hmmm a lot of profit from the sounds of things.

Even if he wasn't in it to scam people in the beginning, that's what he's doing now.

All his actions are diliberate, and I think it's a real shame something like this has come into our community:(

Oh I'm so sorry!
I wouldn't blame you if you quit pony collecting. You've been very victimized in this situation...
I hope that somehow you can be reimbursed in some way, although it seems past the point of no return now...
Which pony were you originally supposed to get from Lars?

Hi SoSilver! Its so nice to see you here! I am so very sorry about what happened to you. Don't quit collecting ponies! One bad egg isn't worth it! Hugs!!!

very good to know, SS. I would hate to see someone mistreated here.

Thank you everyone again, for the private and public messages.
I was buying the yellow Applejack.
At least for the moment i'll force myself not to think about ponies.
In a week i'll be in New York and i'll have the chance to think about something else.
Big hugs again to everyone!
M!

SoSilver.... you love ponies... don't let this persons actions discourage you. if anything, pack away your ponies before making a hasty decision. it's like a bad breakup... time heals.

something seems fishy about the factory... it seems that it may play a huge role in all this. along with the prototypes.

[EDIT]

i have a friend that was born and raised in columbia, and came here as a tween... i wonder if he knows anything about the factory. or can find out anything. the factory thing is interesting to me.

does anyone know the name of the factory that produced them in columbia?
