Most people buy the ponies they really want, but some are too rare or expensive that they aren't able to get their hands on them. So, What I want to know is:

What is your favorite pony of each generation that you DON'T own:
G1:
G2:
G3:

I'll go first:
G1: Variant Princess Royal Blue with Glow in the dark hair
G2: Hip Holly
G3: Silver Rain
 
hmm.. interesting.

G1: I dunno.. any of the 7 Characters that I don't have.
G2: Princess Trixiebelle
G3: Love Wishes (I think that was her name.. the Mail Order?)
 
G1: DEFINATELY Snowflake. ^w^
G2: Ivy, only because she was my first pony...I need an Ivy..
G3: Hmm...This is a hard one..I own almost all the G3's..and I hardly like any of them..I guess Precious Gem..I just traded mine not to long ago. XD
 
G1: Baby Princess Sparkle!!!
G2:...Erm... Petal Blossom
G3:Sweet Sparkle - LOVE HER!
 
favorites are hard for me because i just started back up on the pony thing but...
G1 Adult Gusty all the way just can't find her clean.
G2 Satin Slipper, hard cause I haven't really warmed up to the G2s
G3 August Breeze or Crystal Crown...watching them on "some auction site" right now so maybe I will be able to get them.

G3: Dream Drifter

G3: Im not familiar with which ponies are super expensive.I would go with my G3 birthflower or the jemstone ones.

G2: I don't collect G2s but Hip Holly is pretty awesome
G3: Beachbelle & Caribbean Delight
 
G1 : Sweet Scoops!
G2: None- I thought they were ugly... sorry.
G3: It's a tie, though neither are rare or expensive- Amberlocks and Meadowbrook
 
What is your favorite pony of each generation that you DON'T own:
 G1: Greek Windy (pink version) like in my sig.
G2: FireFly (some one here is selling one and he's gorgeous!
G3: None really, I have most the ones I like. ..ooo any giant plushie!!

G1: Well, this is a tough question. There are so many. Probably any Bluebelle that I don't own (Like a white one) or Dazzleglow (either color hearts)
G2: Clover
G3: Dream Drifter or Port-o-Bella
 
G 1: Non-pony: Creamsicle
Pony: Barnicle
G2: Sorry all, but am agreeing with Morrioghan
G3: Periwinkle, as she was my first
