Late night thought - You know what could be good for cleaning inside ponies in the hooves? … a water pick. Pony’s very own jet washer

The suits were very cute though. Clothes cats must have freaked her out as well as the vet smell off them

They don’t really have much smell to them but there must be something a cat’s nose can pick up if they rely on that to recognise each other. Maybe it will also help when they’re naked again

i also was gonna say that i havent heard of the scent resetting thing before, but perhaps its more of an issue if the cats coming back from the vet are kittens, since theyre so small....

Apparently cats can sense when another has had anaesthetic? They didn’t seem to reset when my oldest had teeth removed months ago

Today the kittens are going for a checkup (they had been spayed you see, so their bodily smells have changed). I hope my oldest doesn’t doesn’t completely reset recognition a second time

When my old rescue had to go in for echo and ECG, the vet gave me sedatives to give her before we took her in cos she was also diag with anxiety, bless her -

Interesting timing for cat vet convo. My cat is going to the vet Tommorow. We tried to take him last Friday but he had an anxiety attack and they made us send him home....

I've always heard to use a worn shirt, to make them smell like you again -

I heard of rubbing the pet with a shirt/towel/ect. after coming home from the vet. The house scent on the fabric rubs off on the pet to make it smell more familiar. -

Yep my boy acted like I brought home a brand new cat when the girl went to the vet! I've never had any other cat act that way -

My boy (RIP) would beat up my girl when she comes back from the vet. But not the other way around.

Cats can be REALLY WEIRD when it comes to the vet smells. Oddly enough I never had that issue with my cats?? I never heard of the powder idea, really nifty!

The oldest one went to complain at a kitten and got confused after I put the powder on… she must have realised something
