They don’t really have much smell to them but there must be something a cat’s nose can pick up if they rely on that to recognise each other. Maybe it will also help when they’re naked again
i also was gonna say that i havent heard of the scent resetting thing before, but perhaps its more of an issue if the cats coming back from the vet are kittens, since theyre so small....
Today the kittens are going for a checkup (they had been spayed you see, so their bodily smells have changed). I hope my oldest doesn’t doesn’t completely reset recognition a second time
When my old rescue had to go in for echo and ECG, the vet gave me sedatives to give her before we took her in cos she was also diag with anxiety, bless her
Interesting timing for cat vet convo. My cat is going to the vet Tommorow. We tried to take him last Friday but he had an anxiety attack and they made us send him home....
I heard of rubbing the pet with a shirt/towel/ect. after coming home from the vet. The house scent on the fabric rubs off on the pet to make it smell more familiar.
Cats can be REALLY WEIRD when it comes to the vet smells. Oddly enough I never had that issue with my cats?? I never heard of the powder idea, really nifty!
