My only ever beddy bye eyes pony has arrived. Baby gusty. I have plans to make her a zombie I want to lighten her hair and add rage veins (izombie style zombie)
Any tips? I've customized plushies , clay ponies I made myself, blind bags and a rainbowdash that was made to be painted, but never a g1 I'm nervous about messing up
 
Its sound strange but if you take foundation powered like for your face and make a bit of a paste out of it with water it kinda gives a white pony a more dead look. I tried it on a Halloween pony once and it worked it just has to set on the pony for awhile. a Fine line brush will help with veins as well.

The darker the powerd the darker the stain on the pony will show up. You could also try making a bowl of tea and after the water cools put the pony in under the water for a bit and it will stain it too. However water would prob get into the pony as well but its just a idea. Tea staining is something I have done with fabric and other toys so it might work on the pony.
 
Well, some tools most customizers don't use often that work wonders on zombie type pony customs is a woodburning etching tool, or engraver tool that heats up. I use one of those on some customs to carve designs into the pony and it turned out beautifully. Although you could use it to just carve out patches to make them look more dead. Also if you want to add a vein on top of the plastic. Hot glue would work. You can use it to make it veiny and then paint over on top of it. I found this youtube video that kinda shows some cool textures you can do with hot glue.
 
Oh I just wanted to add the red and lighten her mane but I think she' zombie enough as is she isn' as baity as I expected so I'd rather leave her be and just call her my zombie let' face it she looks like one anyhow lol
