MLPTP EVENT You're as Cold as Ice - Step #1 Discussion

Lots of nice entries everyone ! :O
So excited to post mine :D Hurry up and freeze lol
 
dude, this one was rough!

I'm finally happy with one of my attemps - I just wish it hadn't cracked as I was rinsing it too get it out of the container :(
 
So I was gonna re do my picture because I had it on a plate and i noticed the rules said - *Pony must be completely encapsulated in ice and the pony must be visible.
*Ice block must be free standing and not it a tray or item used to freeze it.

I also noticed other people had entries on plates though so do plates not count as a tray or ?
Just not sure to use my entry or not
 
Ruh roh. Hope that's not the case, but oh well. I used the plate for mine for decorative value and so it wouldn't go sliding across the table (or leave water marks), after removing it from the container used to freeze it.

Yea me too your pic is great ! an I don't think my table will appreciate me puttin ice straight on it lol
 
Well I got my pic up I just wish it wasn't so cloudy in the middle because you cant tell its a candle holder :(
 
This is so much fun! I'm enjoying everyone else's pictures...I just put Applejack and Rainbow Dash in to freeze, just in case one comes out badly. Crossing my fingers for decent ice! xD

It doesn't matter if you put your block of ice on a decorative plate, just don't have the ice still inside the bowl that you froze it in. Does that make sense? Take it out of the item you froze it in, so that you can see most of it. I think it's just more for the picture quality than anything. :photo:

I'll be scoring these and we'll have a new step up soon, can't wait! This is an awesome one, I'm loving all the entries!

Don't feel bad, mine did too; it got all cloudy too. *grumble*
 
This was really fun! I froze both Rainbow Dash and Applejack in case something happened - good thing, because the cup Applejack was in cracked. That was dumb of me.. :vscared: I was able to get a clearer picture, too, so I replaced the old one..I hope that's okay. :) When I took her out to thaw, the ice cracked after a while so I thought that looked really cool.

This is simply freaking awesome. I love it!

I just put up the second step, hope it's just as fun as the first. It may prove to be challenging, and you may have to do things you wouldn't normally do, but then again, who freezes ponies normally? HA!

Awww, Hulkbow, late but completely worth it! That is amazing! How did you do that? It looks like an ad for some exotic drink. Just ...... STUNNING. If it were up to me, I'd have to give you full points, but in the tradition of the challenging 10-year hunt, I'll have to do sneaky points, sorry !!!

Thanks! Murphy wound up directing the project, so I'd have to say my secret to putting it all together was the creative implementation of many colorful metaphors (I still have two other abandoned ideas in the freezer). And considering I thought I was disqualified for missing the deadline, I'll happily take those sneaky points.
