Whilst glancing at other's collections, I see some lovely but very rare variants. WHERE DO YOU GET THEM!? I know some people live in Greece and were once a little girl so they have lots of Greek Ponies like Lady Bird or Astrapi but those of you who DONT live in Macau, Greece, Brazil, Spain or Argentina.....then my question's for you!

I've seen a collectors pose Cherries Jubliee AND an Argie Gingerbread on auction together once (and they went for like $60 US *dies*) and occasionally they pop up on Ebay I know. But some of those ponies just aren't out there. Limedrop??? And I've never seen a Brazil Moonstone for sale.

Does everyone just grab them when they pop up? Tradera? Ebay? Mercado Libre? Other collectors? Other NON collectors? Je suis curieux....

I got my Brazilian Moonstone from another collector (thanks Lina! ^.~). I heard there was one in eBay some time ago too. Now that you mentioned it. :p

I don't have that many foreign ponies since I don't want to pay those enormous prices they go for, so I just try to get them via trading. I have found some foreigns from flea markets though. But I only have a couple of foreign ponies anyway - I'll soon start hunting them more actively when I put up my trade list! *grins*

Oh, those Brazilian ponies.. I'm so in love with my Moonstone I just must get Truly and North Star too! ^^

Ebay mostly. There's quite a lot of them on there these days, all in all. I have also bought from Tradera and the TP.

Other than that, I have a couple from when I was a child. I live in the UK, but we holidayed in Europe a lot. A couple came from the second hand market here in the 80s as well. And recently I bought a Macau pony from a non-collecting acquaintance.

So all over really, but most ebay and other collectors.

I mostly find them at flea markets, and since i don´t collect them myself, I put them on my trade list.
The most common pony here is the Italian Peachy, she must have been shipped with the little blue stable in some parts of Europe, because otherwise I can´t imagine why there should be so many of her..............

re

I get most of mine on ebay too. Granted they're mostly all UK/german exclusives, and a few dutch ponies. I only have 1 Italian Heart throb, and a MOC argi baby peachy that I got at a toy show here in IL:) The only other thing I found was a MIB spanish sweet dreams crib in a toy shop:)

Ebay msotly. I tried mercado libre twice but had issues with the sellers both times

sometimes i get them via the sales forum here but mostly ebay :D

I'm in the US and it kinda boggles my mind thinking about going to a fleamarket or similar occasion and finding such beautiful foreigns. The ones I have/am getting all came from Ebay and Ebay.fr (I speak good french also) and twice, Ebay.de using a translator.
Two are coming from other collectors.

Interesting :)

I found Sweet Clover the picnic pony (actually my mom found her while I was out of town) at my local Goodwill store, in Washington state.

I thought it was pretty weird.

I don't have anything too great or spectacular.. but let's see. I did at one time have a Brazillian Minty and no symbol Bowtie, but I sold one for some much needed cash (That was Bowtie I believe.. I don't remember) and the other I traded for some other ponies. Still wish I had them now, but oh well. My Italian Skyflier and Bubbles I got from a seller from the TP.. not sure if she posts here anymore. As for my other foreigns, I got Rosette, Sweet Clover, Straight head Bowtie and Applejack, Baby Susie, Baby Schoolbag, Baby Alphabet, and a bunch of other UKs I got from either Ebay or sellers on here.

I have gotten most of my foreigns from various ebays like ebay.de, ebay.fr, and regular old ebay. I did get some from trades (most of my euro ponies- I have barely had to buy any) and from other collectors (greeks and alternate birthflowers) as well as from people who would e-mail me with offers after I had been outbid on ebay for the same item (Italy Yellow Moondancer, I wound up not only buying Moondancer but also other Italy ponies and a few France and Spain from her).

I traded very heavily with a girl from Germany for about a year, I would find Cabbage Patch stuff and trade it for her pony stuff, I got Baby Buttons, NBBE Gusty, German Baby Lemon Drop, the yellow Nestie, Baby Dolphin, Baby Honeycomb and all but 2 of my Macau, most of my Italy ponies, and others by trading with her. She would find stuff at the fleamarket and trade for my stuff from the fleamarket, it worked out great for us both. I wish I hadn't lost her e-mail address, she was very sweet and fun to talk to, which, IMO was even better than the ponies. :D
