I dont use tablets much since I have a regular computer. I do have a cell phone but its only for emergencies and I just use it for music mainly.
 
Phones pretty much are tablets nowadays. My phone is a flip phone that can't even take pictures. Lol
 
I don't have a regular computer, but I love my kindle fire. For price, security, ease of use, and tech support I think they're tops. My daughter's iPad is basically a real computer, but cost is high, and the charge you for even calling in for tech support. Luckily my dad can help her.
 
I have a computer savvy husband. If he doesnt know whats wrong we take it to a computer place to look at though the one by us moved so we have to find another place. :/
 
I don't get people these days with their cellphones and their tablets they really don't seem that great to me, I still use a laptop and the only thing the cellphone I have is used for is a clock, flashlight, and a mp3 player.
 
I dont either why people have to not be able to "cant" live without their phone. I do admit I am on the computer more than I should be. Though I can walk away from it if I had to maybe I would get more pony stuff done.

I so agree. The only reason I have a cell phone is because it's cheaper than a landline and I like the idea of my daughter always being able to reach me.
I had a laptop and it dies after just a few years of use. My kindle was $100 and has lasted so much longer than that $600 laptop. I can't do as much, but it does all I need. So a good match.

In a college situation a cheap but good ( not this stupide gateway iono why anyone would buy this thing} is useful to me at least. I had to sadly do the last two years of my major online and I hated it but at least I had a laptop, so I could do it in my down times at work or breaks.

Without a laptop I would be a complete shut in barely communicating with the outside world. I respect people like of tables and kindle heck even there phones. Buy I need a laptop or a desk top to function so its a mental thing. Not everything is all black and white as some of us need laptop just to communicate with the outside world even on a forum about plastic colorful ponies.:tongue:

As I say to many to each his own. I don't like tablet but that does not mean I would say neg stuff about them and all. I just like my poor old Sombra who in the doctors again and really want him back aka my laptop. If I magicaly had 300 dollars I just by s new laptop while morning my old one.

I have this thing where I feel sorry for object certain one anyway and feel bad for them,
 
Typing is so much easier with a laptop. Much more ergonomically correct, too. I'm just under financial restrictions and my laptop died beyond all hope of repair. Fingers crossed that I'll be able to get something suitable for school work for Evelyn and a printer when she's in high school. Even her iPad doesn't support a program for writing papers for school. Kindle doesn't support ios or Microsoft, so that severely limits it. My dad said he'd help us pick the correct choice for her when the time comes. My sister got a laptop in her first year of college. A MacBook of some sort and it lasted almost 15 years with one new battery. The only reason she got a new one is because it couldn't handle the updates anymore. I'm certainly not dissing anyone who has a laptop or desktop. Everyone needs what's right for them. I hope I didn't cause any offense. Kindle only works for me since my usage is so minimal and basic. I had originally gotten an iPad, but paying for a tech support call was too much for me. I'm not tech savvy. Evelyn's getting pretty good with her iPad and the school has a Google chromebook for every kid. In high school they even get to bring them home and back. She's pretty good with them, too. I just personally don't care for Google and refuse to have any accounts with them. I do miss plants vs zombies... it was pretty amusing. My kindle only has mahjong. Of course then there's my kindle paperwhite for books only. It's my favorite device ever! Especially with free library ebook loans.
 
I don't say anything bad about kindle and all just I would never get one. except for my fanfic I can only really stand to read books made of paper I don't like digital books they freak me out. Just no no no no, I ll just by paper books and other can read there kindles and the world can go on.
Hey I freak out over CD DVD don't get me start on the internet and MP3 so yeah I kinda don't take to new things well.

If your kid needs a computer that will only be used for school work then you could get an old Windows 98 or some thing like that when you can find them they are usually cheap.

I have trouble typing on a cellphone because my fingers are too big to see what letter I'm pushing. The main reason I use a laptop is because the only games I like to play are for computers and need a keyboard and the screen is big enough I can actually see what is happening. Also I have never read a book on a tablet but I have read stuff on laptop and I prefer to read stuff in a book and it's harder to break a book then it is to break a tablet.

Well no more chick have gone to the next place thank the gods. We have set the traps you catch live animals in and it ifs a cat we see what to do then. My dad had made the lower part of our coop boarded up so the little ones cant get out. Of course Bridget and Abby my goat think its fun to stand on the boards and nock them over. Which if no fix leave these magic area where Emily and Coraline can get out.

Just like today I hear the babies are out I zoom out the door and sure enough the planks are down and the two chick are running around outside. Roho jr is beside himself the Prissy my other baby and Goldie my mom hen are in a panic. I turn the corner and Emily has run through the fence around the chicken coop door and back into the fence. I call Coraline and she come to me and I pick her up and just hug her. Luckily my dad caught Emily before she got hurt and fixed the board. I like to tell my two goat off but there like 12 and it hard they are just so cute.

I see your point. My daughter has paper books. Mostly because picture books don't translate well into digital format. It's also because she's learning to be careful. I can't say anything about the newest kindle readers except I'm offended they are so very right hand use only. The paperwhite I've dropped several times. I miss holding an actual book sometimes. With carpal tunnel syndrome, through, the kindle is easier on myy hands. Small lightweight and any font size I want. The battery lasts forever, too. When my daughter was born I took all my books into our gigantic used book store,Powell's books, and traded all mine so I could build her library. I had to physically visit the library frequently before I got the kindle and I really don't handle public places well. Especially now that everyone seems to stink of weed. I read an average of a book a day, so this online borrowing is amazing for me. Reading is my escape. I love reading. There's always something available. I do need to have access to a computer or tablet that can access the library site and the internet to make it all work.

That said, I know it's not right for everyone, and in the zombie apocalypse I'd have nothing to read, but to each their own. We .All do what works best for us.
 
Just because something says it's made for right hand only doesn't mean that left handed people can't use it, most of the scissors and stuff I use are right handed but I use them in my left hand anyway also doesn't hurt that my right hand is kind of useless, but the same can be said about most firearms being made for right hand only, but I can't use them with my right hand because I can't aim down the sights with my right eye for some reason so I have to use my left hand anyway. Also any console game that has left or right controls I always use the right because that is usually the default and is what the tutorial is based on so they are what I learn to use.

Also how do you even make a tablet only work for one hand, I mean it's a rectangle you can hold it any way you want.

If you check out the newest kindle reader, you'll know what I mean. It's three times thicker on the left and the screen doesn't flip since it's just a reader not a true tablet. My mom is left handed and grew up before all the left-handed products even existed. She doesn't do the writing where you reach up and over. I'm not left-handed and i generally prefer to hold mine like a right-hander, but sometimes I do switch and the kindle oasis is weighted all wrong. I actually wrote them a note about it. I hope they fix it in the newer ones.
 
I should write a book call the many way the Emily the chick gets in trouble. It has to be my YELLOW baby sigh.
 
In a zombie apocalypse I'll have enough books for you all! Come shelter at Hotel la Foofoo, your End of the World hostess with the mostest!

How do you do that? I always just wrote like what right handed people and just drug my hand through what I wrote and had to move my hand every now and then.
