What Price Should I Sell My G4's?

Alright, after much thought, I decided I am going to sell my G4 Ponies. I really need the money and I know they would go to better homes with members on here~

Question is though, how should I price them? I am going to be selling them separately, since it seems some sell for more than others. I was looking at prices on ebay of certain ones, but I guess it depends on the condition of the pony for how much they sell.

I also don't know if I should post them on ebay or not, since you are only a limited number of listings and then paypal and ebay take money from the final price. I have quite a number of items other than ponies that I have to sell as well. (Is anyone interested in Furby's? lol )

Also, should I clean them up before selling them? Or just leave them to the buyer to do whatever they want?

Anyway, expect a sales post possibly in the next couple days, I already know that I am gonna sell my Blind Bag ponies and McDonalds Ponies for $1 each. I am keeping the stallions though, to use as reference when I make my own pony character sculptures.

You can find the G4 ponies I am selling here~ I have a couple more I recently got, so they are not listed in the pictures below.

Whenever I sell ponies I personaly look them up on Ebay (finished and more importantly sold listings) to see what people are prepared to pay for them in avarage.

Im not sure if Im correct but most G4s still seem to sell for peanuts as there's just SO many of them available everywhere. There are obviously the more harder to find like the Euro exclusives but you already seem to have that in check ;)

If you want to avoid fees then listing them here for starters would probably be the best option. Im ashamed to say I havent kept up with all the rules here as of late, but I think you can make an auction type thread if you like here and take offers - seeing what people are prepared to pay that way.
If they don't sell here in X amount of time you could always throw them on Ebay then.

As a final suggestion - IMO anyway, ponies that have been cleaned properly and look all fancy and shiny and new do seem to sell better. Because, who doesn't like to get a clean, shiny fancy pony in the mail? :satisfied:

For the G4s that are still currently on shelves, like the neverending horde of mane six ponies, I'd look at what they sell for in stores or online, like on Hasbro's site, then knock the price down according to how near mint each of yours are. The hair is usually easily fixable, so you'll be mostly looking at damage – pen marks, chips and scratches, and any noticeable factory errors.

Take into account also the ones with glitter symbols versus the ones without, as I think those may be able to go for about $1 more. I've also noticed that you have two Applejacks there with forelocks – though still not as valuable as they'd be mint, those would likely be worth a bit more than the one without, as they've become quite sought after by G4 collectors. The one that doesn't have a forelock likely belongs to the barn playset, but you can decide for yourself if you want to sell them together or separately. Likewise with the RC car, which I believe goes with one of your Pinkie Pies. You may be able to get a bit more for each of them by selling them with their respective playsets.

For the older ponies that aren't sold anymore, you'll need to go by completed eBay auctions. I've seen a ton of overpriced sales up there, so like Desert_Rose said, only look at the ones that people have actually paid for. Depending on how much you actually paid for them yourself, you could stand to make quite a bit of profit on some of them.

From what I've seen online, the Crystal Empire singles (the ones that are distributed on cards instead of in boxes, including those with tinsel hair) are $5 new. I've seen people on the forums sell the more common ponies loose for around $3, so you're probably safely looking at about $3-4 each depending on condition. The Glimmer Wings are about $12 new, and the Crystal Motion version of Rainbow Dash should be about $8 new. Fashion style ponies seem to be $15 new. Locally, the playsets go for about the same, though Amazon would beg to differ. I've heard that the barn in particular is becoming increasingly difficult to find overseas, so that may increase the price estimate somewhat. The talking princesses are also worth about that, I have seen the white Celestia secondhand for $15. I'm not sure if the old pink version is worth more or less than the white – it stands to reason that it would be worth a bit more, but she has no accessories... and people like show accuracy, and she is white... so you're likely not going to get too much more for it if anything. The Funko vinyl Doctor Whooves is $12 new on Amazon, so for that one maybe less than $10 depending on condition. I have no idea whatsoever about the keychain looking things...

Then, for the less common ponies... Looking at Strawberry Reef, you can see exactly how old each pony is and how many different times each of them were released. This insight helps to establish approximately how rare they are, and lets you determine their actual worth.

Feathermay, Blossomforth, Honeybuzz, Plumsweet, Lulu Luck, Snowcatcher and Cupcake all had only 1-2 releases in 2011 and are pretty rare. DJ Pon-3 and Flower Wishes only had one release, both in the 2012 Favourites Collection. Nightmare Moon was only in that collection and the Target exclusive Midnight in Canterlot collection in 2013. Shining Armor also had a 2012 and 2013 release, in the Wedding Castle playset and the second Favourites Collection respectively.

Luckily, yours all seem to be in very good condition, so you should be able to get a good price for each of them. I just hope it'll be enough (and in time) to get you that ticket.

Don't forget, I am still very interested in a lot of these. :winkpony: I'll drop you another PM and discuss this further.

@Desert_Rose I go to ebay whenever I sell things XD I am going to have to do some major research XD

Alright, I just wanted to make sure! I was thinking I should clean them, but I wanted to double check first (I have come across people before that didn't like when I fixed stuff up that they wanted to buy XD)

Thanks!

@ladyofthenight

I tend to go by "Ending Soonest" on ebay when it comes to items I am selling to see if they selling or not XD I also by lowest, to see if there are any watchers on the items.

I am not selling Doctor Hooves and the stallions (or Nightmare Moon because my sister wanted her) but I saw one of the vinyl figures of him sell for $% on ebay :O And he had free shipping XD The key chain ponies are McDonalds toys  I already sold the talking Princess Celestia and the others in the first picture to my Mom a couple weeks back for $10 XD

But yeah, whoever owned them last took really good care of them. I think the only issues is just their hair needs taming haha. I actually got the ticket to COMIC CON for my birthday on April 1st ^^ My Dad bought it for me~ All I have to really do now is earn money to actually see the actors I want to see XD

Thanks for the info though~!
