Hey, I was just wondering what pets, if any, you all have or have had? I'll get the ball rolling and go first. :)

Right now we have a red, mini-dachshund named Schatzie Pearl. She is around 7 years old and we've had her since she was about 6 months old. She's a sweetheart with white at the tips of her back feet. I think of her as my little sister! :D

In the past we've had dogs, cats, birds, fish and at one point a lizard, LOL! The 3 birds we had were a cockateel, a cockatoo and an amazon parrot. They had bird talc everywhere. The lizard was an anole, an American chameleon, I believe.

Lovely fat rosehair!
I have ....everything. Almost everything anyway!
Mammals - I have a basset hound and italian greyhound, 3 cats, a naked hamster, and...I breed and show mice! Here is a couple of the variety I focus on. Black tans and PEW.

Fish - I have 5 tanks from 30 gallons to 55. Three are tropical fish, 1 is goldfish, 1 is...see below!
Reptiles - 9 snakes (corn, king, rat snakes, and a woma), 1 crested gecko, 1 box turtle, and from above...a tiny baby musk turtle.

No invertebrates or birds at this time. I do have a horse that lives with my parents. LOL!

I haz a cat. Her name is Mitzy and her special talents include climbing all the shelves, eating bread, cookies, cake and lettuce (not at the same time), and playing frantically with chestnuts and cigarette butts. Around Christmas that list extends to disrupting the Nativity scene, with the shepherds and their sheep as her main casualties.

I have never seen a mouse that color! 80 How unusual and pretty.

We've got a Cocker Spaniel, Aussie Shephard and a Shi-tzu

We haz no pets :/ I used to have a sheltie named Spanky (I did not name him, I rescued him) and a rat named Zoolander back before I had kids, but both passed when I was pregnant with my son.

Alas, I live in an apartment that doesn't allow pets. But the place does have three tanks, two with fish and one with a crab. I count them. In the past I've had just about every thing. Growing up an a farm does that. From baby wood ducks to painted turtles, cats to rats. The only pets I can think of that I haven't had is lizards, snakes or tarantulas. Not for lack of me wanting them, just never had the chance. And I've never had a bird, barring the wood duck and chicks when I was little on the farm. Not a fan really. Oh, and I've never had a real pony, though my oldest sis did when she was little and apparently the thing was mean! But I did ride the sheep occasionally. They don't like it!

Whippet your mice'es are so adorable!! I love the black and tan, I've never seen them before. I didn't know you could show mice! So much to learn in this world. And Philly your tarantula is so fuzzily! I would love to pet it softly. And fuzzy butt Guinea pigs!! My roommate and I had one in college. He was a long haired black piggy we dubber Walter! I missed his little noises he would make.

Aww, this whole thread makes me want to snuggle all the critters. I need to go volunteer at the humane society and get some cuddles in.

I love pet threads to see what everyone has. I have had many pets and would have many more if money, family, and time allowed lol. Currently, I have 2 cats, 2 dogs, and 1 horse.

Cats: **** is all white and just turned 12 in April. I adopted her when she was 6 from a shelter. She was very skittish and my ex did not think she would make a good cat for us but she eventually warmed up...to me. She didn't like him at all; guess she could sense the evil lol.
Anubis is all black and just turned 7 in March. My ex and I adopted him from a shelter as a kitten. He was the only boy in the litter and the feistiest one. Now he believes he is king of the house and gets crabby with **** and the dogs. He can be a lover or a big jerk depending upon his mood.

Dogs: Toby is a Husky/German Shepherd/Black Lab/Collie/etc. mix that I got from my best friend and former neighbor when he was a tiny puppy. He ended up in our yard in the middle of December and was only 6-8 weeks old. After much begging my parents let me keep him. He will be 13 in October for his age and size (~95 lbs.) I think he's doing pretty good. He LOVES food and steals human food frequently.
Trixie is a Brittney Spaniel who was a stray. She showed up last October around my birthday and we both fell in love. I call her my tick dog because she is constantly latched onto me (that and the poor thing tested positive for Lyme disease when we got her checked out :( ). She is a big lover and everyone that meets her wants to take her home. No one can believe that she was a stray. We are not 100% sure how old she is as the vet said between 2 and 4. I just call her 2 years-old.

Horse: Cherokee is an American Paint Horse Association registered bay Tobiano mare. She just turned 26 on Monday and I have had her since she was 12. My grampa bought her for me when I was in junior high because he wanted me and my cousin to have good riding horses since most of the ones he had from his "hay" days were unrideable for one reason or another. She's got Impressive bloodlines, and still has more spit and vinegar in her than some horses half her age lol. Unfortunately, she has laminitis and white line disease so her more intense riding days have been over but for her age, she's in great shape and my best gal.

I have had gerbils and mice in college; goats, pigs, chickens, and sheep on my grandparents farm as a kid; and multiple kinds of fish including Corydora catfish, Comet goldfish, Bettas, Guppies, Mollies, Gouramis, Tetras, and Platys. I would love a hobby farm when I am more established but my boyfriend swears I won't be able to get mice or rats again (he doesn't see the point), and I don't have time for aquariums right now.

I have a doxie too!! This is Frank, he's a piebald weenie going on 11 years old.

Wow, I've never seen a doxie that color! Thanks for posting his picture. :) My Schatxie will jump on the footrests of my wheelchair, put her back feet on mine, her front feet on my lap and reach up to give me kisses. She is such a sweetie. And sometimes when I'm laying on our couch she'll run at the couch, jump up and poke me with her nose and bounce off my face and take off. LOL That's what I call a "Mega Booftie." :D

Three cats here. No pictures on this computer of my beauties though.
We have

Gandalf the Grey and White : he's a grey and white barn cat. He's around 14 years old and loves to go on his harness and leash and sit on the porch out front watching the world go by while he enjoys the sun. He also loves to wander to the sidewalk to get pets from the passersby, who all love the sweet old thing.

Shar : A sweet natured, chatty calico girl who's just over a year old. She's the smallest of the group and loves to climb up and get cuddles and love. She is often found sprawled on my chest with her paws on either side of my neck and nuzzling my cheeks while I try to work on the computer.

Selune (Lune for short, also Lunatic) : She is Shar's sister. She's also a calico though she has more white to her. Her fur is a bit rougher feeling. She's a pig and the biggest of the three cats and is often called "fatty" very lovingly by myself. She adores having her belly rubbed and loves to get in the tub with me while I have a shower and has even learned how to turn the taps on so she can play in the water in the bathtub during the night (but she doesn't turn them off again!) She is also very sweet and loving, though she doesn't hug the same way as her sister. She loves to help when we're sewing, by pulling each pin out of the project very carefully and setting it on the floor in some hidden place before coming back for the next pin.

Gandalf was originally my sister's cat, but he hated being cooped up in a small apartment so he moved in with mum and I and was much happier with us.

The girls were orphaned in our garage when the feral stray in the neighbourhood was hit by a car. I adopted the two-week old kittens and they've been with me ever since.

This is my little dog Maki. He is a Japanese chin about 6 pounds. He is getting old on me, but this photo is only a couple of months old. My mom paid to have him photographed and this was one of my favorites. You can click on it and it will get bigger.
I enjoy things whose eyes look in two different directions
