What is your favorite pony memory?

The first pony I remember getting was Cherries Jubilee, my Dad worked at a grocery store at the time and my mom and I had stopped by the store for some reason. We were in the back stock area and my Dad had bought me a surprise. I can still almost visualize him reaching up on top of one of the pallets of product and handing me the package. I was probably only about 5 but this is my first pony memory.

I also remember being a kid and we went to Florida for a vacation, at some point my parents got a hold of my Dancing Butterflies and were batting it back and forth monkey-in-the-middle style.....I'm surprised I don't need therapy LOL imagine the betrayal!

I remember going to the river and playing with Sea Breeze in the water, I always thought she was so pretty!

Those are just some childhood memories, as an adult collector I have so many more. They really do bring me good memories, I've thought once or twice if something tragic happened and I lost all of my collection I don't know if it would be the same just replacing them all with insurance money. So many were gifts, awesome finds, or have some story behind them, it just wouldn't be the same.
So many memories! Part of the reason I love them as much as I do is because of memories. Even ones I don't remember clearly I still remember because of that pony/toy.

Going to Yard Birds Mall and Sunbirds back in the 80's and early 90's before Walmart took over everything, and finding brand new g1 ponies on the shelves and my mom usually bought them when I asked

My first memories are with my Shady. My Dad moved my mother and I to Spain when I was 3ish (maybe 4-5) - I remember being extremely homesick and not having my Opa or all my toys to play with was upsetting to me.

I remember my mom and I went to the beach one day and on the way we stopped in a store and there she was. My mom bought her and we went swimming in the ocean, played at the beach all day long. Eventually my parents separated and Mom and I were on a plane back home to Canada and to our family (and my toys) but it was always my Shady that was by my side. I took her everywhere with me. She went to the grocery store, Teddy Bear Time (like daycare), school, pool, bath times (especially once I got my first sea pony).

I just always had her with me, until my younger cousin was born and I insisted that my mom take her to the hospital when she went to see him (because kids were not allowed on the maternity ward at this time still). I apparently asked her to gift my Shady to my cousin and I found out recently he still has her to this day, thanks to my aunt who has saved her over the years for him because she always thought it was sweet of me to give him my favourite toy because “I loved him before I met him”. <3

Other than Shady. I remember, distinctly, playing with my seaponies in my Oma & Opa’s bathroom sink all the time because it was seashell shaped and blue. I thought it was the BEST place to play with seaponies. Lol

Imagine this but blue:

I remember on long trips my sister and I would have some of our toys along and we'd bring out the mail order booklets and wish outloud and hint to our parents about what mail order ponies we wanted. We REALLY wanted Scribbles and Dabble but unfortunately we never got any mail orders.

Playing with my ponies in my room as a kid. I liked to act out plays with the ponies. :) I also remember sending off for some mail orders but only the first ones the last ones I had were the full set of rainbow mail order ponies.

WOW. I recently found out my cousins still have some of my old ponies. It makes one feel better when you know they are loved. It's amazing that a move couldn't seperate you!
