I’ve purchased a few over Facebook local sales. I’ve gotten anywhere from 10-25 ponies and accessories/playsets at a time. Prices have ranged anywhere from a few dollars to about $80.

I will only pay higher prices for ponies in great condition.

Closest I've come is buying lots on eBay. I bought a group of 30 or so years ago for maybe 40 bucks. They were mainly commons, but I had so few G1s at that time I was delighted with my purchase. They don't have to be rare or mint to make me happy!

I agree 100%. I love the process of cleaning up our old friends and giving them a new lease on life. It’s very relaxing. Then finding new homes for them ...

Or hoarding them all to yourself because you love it even more after you spent all that time cleaning it up......

Two or three times I've bought lots of 100-200+ ponies, usually for a few hundred dollars. It's a great way to build your collection if you find the right deal. I would clean up and resell the ones I didn't need and make much of my money back. It's been a while since I've done that large of a lot but I enjoy cleaning them all up. As my collection has grown the percentage of ponies I need most large lots has gotten much smaller but I still keep an eye out. The last lot I bought I actually only needed 2 ponies out of but it had a bunch of hard to find accessories which made it worth it, in the end I got all those accessories to complete my Megan's Place, 2 ponies I needed and ended up with a few upgrades as well. After selling off all the extras I ended up offsetting the cost of the lot by all but 25.00 which was a great price for the stuff I got. It can be a little time consuming of a process but is a smart way to build your collection if you can dish out the up front cost.

I think it would be a lot of ponies and playsets. I never got the ponies and only was stuck with the playsets it was misleading. I still maybe have one or two of the playsets left I think Im not sure.

I once bought a lot of a couple hundred plus accessories and the most I've ever paid for any lot was about $400 including shipping.

Probably around 20-30 ponies for $50 or $60. This was last Christmas when I was still missing lots of G1s, so I was very happy to get them, even if they had some pen marks.
I love the idea of buying lots for cheap and selling off extras. I'm getting to that point with my G3s.

Last summer while I was selling at a local toy collector show, someone approached me asking if I would buy her childhood MLPs. I can’t remember the exact number now, but it was somewhere over 100 ponies. I ended up adding close to half of them to my collection and made a fair amount back on what I paid selling others at the Fair and Canadian Extravaganza this summer.

My biggest lot bought was this week. I bought a collection locally for $200 CAN. There were 36 ponies, all in near mint condition with most accessories. Three sets of newborn twins with all accessories. And the clothes. 20 sets of pony wear complete and mint condition. The woman also made a ton of really cool hand made pony clothes which she threw in.

I bought a lot I found on Craigslist about 10 years ago with Dream Castle, the Perm Shoppe, the Satin Slipper Sweet Shoppe, and about 30 ponies and accessories for $50. I also found a Petite lot several years back at the flea market with several complete pony sets and all the buildings but the castle for $30. I sold most of them off at the 2013 MLP Fair, though, since I wasn't focusing on Petites at the time. I'm still not, but I kind of kick myself when I think of how much G1 prices have inflated and how much money it's going to take for me to buy it all again.

Biggest G1 lot was 13 ponies and I paid $5 on Letgo. I immediately flipped Salty's hat for $20.

If it counts as a lot, since I got them all on the same day, my 20-21 pony haul from the con this year. (My first con and had so much fun!!) Still not sure of the exact number, but it was at least 20. Not sure how much I spent, but it was probably under 50 since I got a few baits because I always feel sorry for them and want to clean them up. Guess I'm a fixer, but let's all hope that doesn't spill into any future romantic relationships! I also managed to get my longtime grail, Tex! Very exciting. Unfortunately, my brother ruined one of the special rub and glow ponies or whatever they're called. Can't remember her name, but she's a pink unicorn with a dragon on one side and a castle on the other. He thought the plastic stuff was paint and meant to come off, but it wasn't. And he's my older brother, this was not a kid problem. :madpony:

Second biggest lot was a mix of reals and fakies off ebay for only 99 cents. Most in poor condition, but it was something like eight ponies. Best deal I've ever gotten, IMO.

*Nosebleed* Over 100 ponies?!
I think if someone approached me with that offer, I'd pass out, scream or both. (Sorry, nosebleeding is an anime reference. Might've seemed funnier in my head.)
