Weird things you find yourself doing...

I randomly subconsciously rub my legs in public due to a anxiety coping mechanism triggered by childhood trauma probably

I only realize I'm doing it when people remark on it

My grandpa in law was baffled by it lol

Um.... I call the bathtub thevfridge sometimes

So I tell my kids to go hop in the fridge to wash up and they know where to go probably

After one of my concussions, speech was so difficult. I still have to work quite hard sometimes. My daughter's always correcting me to make sure she got the right meaning.

If I'm under a blanket, I can't have my nose covered. The rest of my face, no problem - but if my nose gets covered with a blanket, I feel like I'm suffocating. Pretty sure this is related to childhood trauma. :/

I 100% agree with that one.

As a writer I'm very OCD about names and titles of stories/chapters. As in, I write down about ten or twenty, slowly narrow them down over the week, before finally deciding on one. I have baby name book and a notebook full of title ideas just for such a purpose.

...Then there are those times when the story or character just names themselves. In the case of a story, the name will just pop in my head early on and I think "Yeah, that feels right actually." As for characters, either they straight up say their names in the story (Hey, I'm Tom! What's up?") or someone else mentions it ("What've you been up to, Ruben?") A couple times I heard about a character first before I ever meet them ("I guess I'm pretty popular, but not nearly as popular as Charlemagne." Me: Who the %!&% is Charlemagne?)

Being a writer automatically makes you weird :p

I wish I could write. Both my daughter and I are full of ideas, but rather inept at getting them onto paper. Hopefully she'll improve with time. A bit late for me though. I'm just writing down everything that has ever happened in my life in as close to chronological order as possible.

You could try writing short stories or scenes back and forth, not worrying too much about how good they are. Just have fun with it. The best way to get better at writing is to write.

That's what I told her. Also, that she can jot down ideas for the story to use later.
I can barely poke my kindle right now due to my shoulder so writing will just have to wait a while.
