I was makin dinner this evening and glanced out to the atrium and boy did I get a surprise! A beautiful hawk decided to eat it's dinner in there. I've never seen one so close before

Wow, that is pretty amazing! Little warning for the squeamish, though... When it says it decide to eat its dinner there, be warned, one of the pics is a tad graphic.

How exciting! To my people hawks are sacred animals, and one coming to your home to eat would indicate you have prosperity coming your way!

Our mythology also stated that owls (Ishkitini) ate babies though, so once when I had a barred owl I was tending, my uncle threw a fit, thinking it would bring us bad luck. LOL! He was bad luck to the mice I fed him, I guess!

I love hawks! You are so lucky to get such a good view of one having dindins There are a couple of small eagles nesting near my house, so I get to see those quite a bit, but I have never seen them eating before
Interesting info on the owls Eavilbunnyfoofoo! I have only heard the stories of people believieng that if an owl sits on your roof it means that there will be a death in the family. But I love owls and I'm so happy that my dad said he will build us some owl boxes to place in near by trees for them to nest. So exiting!
