Vanhoover Pony Expo

Hmm... it looks like a brand-new thing. Some options aren't even open yet (like the vendor and volunteering applications). It sounds like it's focused around the G4 line (with all the references to Friendship is Magic)... though if there are vendors there (which there probably will be), I hope they have other gens, too. ^_^;

(Driving to + finding parking in Richmond may be a little tricky. x.x; )

This is a great excuse for a holiday and a visit to see my bff. And drag him to pony things once again. Lol.

And he thought he could escape that by moving across the country. Ha ha ha.

They have the vendor applications open. $60 for a half table (2 foot x 3foot) $150 for a full table and you also have to pay for a pass. I couldn't find out how much the event is, but I don't think I'm even interested. Only 12 tables and they are expensive for that amount of space and having to pay entrance fees each day. I paid a bit more for a full booth at a Toy Con in Toronto. Smells of brony. I think I'll pass. Too bad. I was initially quite excited, but it's looking like not much of an event for G1 collectors. I'll keep checking the website, but I'm doubtful.

It does sound like more a G4-focussed event... and those don't sound like too many tables (but this also sounds like a new con, so those are usually pretty small... so 12 tables may be enough for them. I don't know...). Not having any information on ticket prices anywhere - either pre-reg or at door - isn't too good a sign. (and mentioning that they might not be able to sell at-door badges, depending on attendance? I guess that means if too many people show up, they'd have to turn them away because of fire code hazards).

I'll keep an eye on this too, just to see if any more information comes up. If it is a purely G4-focussed event (no other gen collectors), I'll probably pass, too.

They just recently put up the events list. Seems poorly organized. I have no interest in anything offered and honestly, the sex and ponies stuff completely repulses me. I'm not a fan of sexualizing children's today. It's too bad, because it would be so nice to go to a pony event. Back in the day we had some super fun and amazing pony meets in Toronto.
