Just recently, I've started being charged taxes on some of my Ebay pony purchases. I'm pretty ticked about it, because there is no where in the listings that state taxes will be added. I've been trying to google answers to my questions and I'm still unclear. My situation is that I'm a Canadian who ships all ponies to my US address where I pick up the packages once a month. Can anyone answer the following questions and help me understand what is happening.
Are taxes charged based on seller address or buyer address or both?
Don't they have to put somewhere in the listing if they are charging taxes?
If a seller doesn't say they are charging taxes, can Ebay collect money for taxes?
How is it that Ebay is the one collecting the taxes? How can they do this?
Can taxes be collected for International buyers or is this only for US buyers and sellers?
Any other Canadians have experiences where they were or were not charged taxes from US sellers?
