It’s the return of the T’was the Night Before Christmas Photo Contest!

Got ponies? Got a digital camera? Then you can play!
We're going to illustrate this classic story with a photo contest!

Here's what to do:
1. Everyone select up to three (3) lines from the story, and post which line/s you want here in this topic, thereby reserving them. They will be reserved on a first come, fist serve basis. If someone else has already grabbed your line you will be asked to choose another. Please make sure you refresh and look over what other people have selected before choosing.

2. Then, using your ponies, create a photograph to illustrate each line you chose.

a: You must use ponies in the photos (at least one, any generation). Other toys and items are fine to use, but your image must include Hasbro-manufactured MLP.

b: Photos must be appropriate to the content rules of this forum. (G-rating)

c: "Photoshop" and similar image manipulation programs may only be used for cropping, resizing and small "tweaks" such as color adjustment, contrast and the like. We do this to be fair, since not everyone has these programs.

d: Photos must be your own. If I find it on google and it doesn't have your name on it - tsk tsk and no go.

e: Each photo counts as ONE entry. You may reserve up to three lines and you may enter a maximum of three images. You may illustrate a photo with one line, or two lines or all three you selected. That's up to you.

3. PM your finished images to me no later than 12:00 midnight EST on 12/22/13.

All will be revealed on 12/23, at which time our illustrated story will be shown in General Discussion and the MLPTP Admin Team's 3 favorite photos will be awarded a prize.
****Do NOT post your photos here **** PM them to Gingerbread

Any questions? Just ask here.
The contest signup is officially open, so reserve your favorite line from the story now!

I will try to keep a frequent watch on this thread and mark which lines are already taken but please be certain to check the posts too and make sure no one has already taken the line you want. When I can I will turn red the taken lines and put the name of the member who's reserved it next to the line.

T’was the night before Christmas, when all through the house, NichiTsukinoko
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse; Skygleamshine
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, Kallile

In hopes that ST. Nicholas soon would be there;
The children were nestled all snug in their beds, Moondream
While visions of sugar plums danced in their heads.

And Mama in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap, NichiTsukinoko
Had just settled our brains for a long winter's nap —
Sweet Tooth
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, Sweet Tooth

I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash, Marble Dragon
Tore open the shutters, and threw up the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new fallen snow,
Gave the luster of mid-day to objects below;

When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,

But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer, Moondream
With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick. Marble Dragon
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and call'd them by name:

"Now! Dasher, now! Dancer, now! Prancer and Vixen,
"On! Comet, on! Cupid, on! Donder and Blitzen;

"To the top of the porch! To the top of the wall! Skygleamshine
"Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!" Skygleamshine

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly, wlyteth
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky; wlyteth
So up to the house-top the coursers they flew, wlyteth

With the sleigh full of toys — and St. Nicholas too:
And then in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,

Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound: Marble Dragon
He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot, Sweet Tooth
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot; cutiecalico
A bundle of toys was flung on his back, cutiecalico
And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack. Moondream

His eyes—how they twinkled! his dimples how merry! ponybeginner
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry! ponybeginner
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow, ponybeginner

And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow;
The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath;

He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook when he laughed, like a bowlful of jelly.
He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,

Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread; Evilbunnyfoofoo
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work, Evilbunnyfoofoo
And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk, Evilbunnyfoofoo

And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle,
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,

“Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night.”
Now Dasher, now Dancer, now Prancer and Vixen. On! Comet on! Cupid on! Donner and Blitzen.

I just bought the cutest thing for my photo shoot! SQUEE!!!

I'll give this a go~

I like the lines-
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter
The moon on the breast of the new fallen snow
Gave the luster of mid-day to objects below

Just sent mine in. Right after I finished taking my pictures outside, it started raining. Just in time!

Anyway, this is so much fun!!! :lolpony:

Should be able to get mine in tomorrow afternoon! Some surprise company sort of derailed my plans and caused a lot of cleaning to be done.

I started a conversation to send you my picture, Gingerbread. Was that the right way to do it?

Hurry, hurry! I wanna see tonnes of cute pics!

Y'know, I bought an adorable little sleigh thinking it would be great for pics, then realised I hadn't picked lines that involved a sleigh. Derp.

:blush:

There' s next year though!

I so sorry for the late notice but I can't participate after all, family is sick and between that and Christmas I don't have time. :( Sorry again for not saying anything sooner, it completely slipped my mind. I look forward to seeing what everyone else does though! Merry Christmas.
