Hello everybody!

The Toronto Mini Meet was today and it was terrific! The weather was awsome (okay, wee bit hot!) and the company couldn't have been better :D And there were horses and MLP's involved - how could this day be anything but fantastic? *G*

Here's a picture diary of our day, beginning at our trail ride at Whinny Acres to out frolicing in the park at Rockwood. Wish you could have been there!

A MEET ON THE MOVE :D

A pony meet! What more fun is there then a pony meet? Why, taking it on the road, of course! Here we are at Whinny Acres – we’re the Mounted Pony Posse!

From left to right, John, Sarah (Moondancer) Tanya (Sky Rocket) Neena (me – Lady Whimsy) and Jenn (Dancing Butterfly). Our horses are respectively, Savannah (percheron), Chris (thorough bred) James Bond (thorough bred) Duncan (quarter horse) and Joey (appaloosa).

Here’s Sarah, moments before her horse decided to lie down for a good roll in the dust, but she handled it smoothly and convinced him otherwise. Actually, it looked as though she planned the whole thing and was simply showing off :p

Tanya says, “Enough of this casual banter – on with the ride!â€

James Bond says, “See, this is what I put up with in a day.â€

The ride was wonderful… I hadn’t ridden since last summer so it was great to be back in the saddle again! (my backside begs to differ right now, which is why we didn’t book the two hour ride) We perused through the quite countryside and forests, and had a chance to do some trotting and loping to boot! It was so much fun – we all had a blast :D

And here’s Ember! What’s not adorable about a baby foal, especially when she’s named after a MLP?

By this time, summer sunshine that had the temperature upwards of 35C (that’s 95 degrees for you Fahrenheit people!) and it was time to hit the water. Away we went to the Rockwood Conservation area, and the only shortfall was that the Old Mill Ruins were closed for a wedding. (darn wedding!) But we had fun anyway. And so did the sea ponies –

Baby Surfy and Baby Seabreeze were out for a sail on the Grand River. Unfortunately, they were headed straight for the waterfall!

Luckily, the grown-up sea ponies were nearby (after all, children should never be left in the water unsupervised).

And because having a sea pony go over the falls might be a bad thing, never take your ponies swimming without human supervision either.

So here we are at the end of a great meet, and no better a day could have been planned! Thanks so much to you guys for making it so memorable – I can’t wait to have the next one!

Kudos, and many ponies to you all :)

great pictures! love the sea ponies :)

Neena likes to "go fast" too, so we had a blast :)

Lol, do I ever! and Duncan was such a sweet ride :D Almost nice having a smaller group so we were able to do so much with the horses (when you get so many going out at once you're kind of inclined to walk). *G* Nothing makes the day like a good lope through the countryside! Weee-heee!

Neena ~
