MLPTP EVENT The MLPTP's 2013 Halloween Swap - COMPLETE!

Yay!! My wishlist is up now! Also, bought my first swap pony!!!!!!!

Such a relief to be quick off the mark, on my last swap, I was hanging around for payday whilst everyone was posting spoilers and saying how they'd bought a tonne of ponies!! Luckily I had a bit of holiday money left, so I snagged a pony quick :D

Dang it! I missed signups.

Yay!! Swap partner, your first pony has arrived!!! You have another 2 in the post which will hopefully arrive tomorrow :D

I've been shopping, just waiting by the mailbox now and I can start putting my box together!

Bought a pony and some extras for my partner today. Now to just wait for the pony to arrive and to try not to eat the extras.

Ok so one of the ponies I bought had a couple of regrind spots on her face :( cannot give her in that condition, so I have bought another and I'll keep her for myself since it was one I didn't have! Let's hope the other one is better!!

My partner's first pony arrived today! I've got another one the way and one more I just paid for.

Yay 2 more ponies arrived today, they look so gorgeous!! I am almost tempted to keep them LOL, but I won't, they'll definitely be going to my partner :D

I'm done shopping for the most part. I'm just looking for a few extra goodies now. :winkpony:

Grrr I cannot find any good Halloween bits and bobs anywhere......I managed to grab some orange and black crepe paper to do something with and some matching bows. I really wanted to make some googley eyed spiders, but no fuzzy black pom poms anywhere, and the pastel multi-colored ones just don't cut it :(

No Halloween inspired candy bits anywhere......but loads of Christmas goodies :(

Rhubarb, check out your craft stores. Check out the ribbon section, the sticker section, and the flower section. Any craft store worth its salt is all over the Halloween thing. You'd be amazed what you can find.

I found the last of my Halloween bits at Target yesterday. They're pushing right into Thanksgiving and Christmas, but the Halloween stuff is (mostly) up, even though we're a month out. Check your grocery store and pharmacies (CVS for example) too. They'll be pushing the candy, but sometimes you can find little things like Halloween pez dispensers and the like. :)

Edit: Just realized you're in the UK, so the pharmacy probably won't apply to you. ^^

Yeah the craft shop was where I got the crepe paper from  I'll try hitting up some other cheapie shops in the week after work, I have been told they have some stuff in! Honestly its like they've jumped straight from summer to Christmas!!

Dude, Kmart was playing CHRISTMAS music :shockpony:

anyways - im waiting on one more pony and I need some candies. Is it just me or is the candy selection lacking this year??

Ooohnonononononononono Christmas songs should not be played until earliest November :madpony:

I too am feeling the lack of halloween related candy - loads of choccie snowmen and Lindt reindeer, but not one single eyeball gobstopper or jellyworm anywhere :cry2:

:black_cat1::witch2::spider1::catmoon:

My other always said "The christmas season does not start till santa makes his apperence in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade" which is always the last Thrisday in November...but that dosent take in to account people who live OUTSIDE the USA...

I think maybe november would be OK but NOT september. :madpony:

I did find some cadbury Halloween eggs (same as the easter but they have green centers) but I ate them all up.

Okay, I have absolutely nothing to do with this since I'm not in the swap, but this here made me laugh. Hard. Thanks, I needed that. :winkpony:

On the subject of early Christmas, I try not to allow myself into the mood until at least after November 11th, A.K.A. St. Martin's Day (Yaaaaaay roasted chestnuts :satisfied:). Sometimes it's HARD, last year I got into the mood around this time of year, and by mid-November I was all Christmased out. Not nice. =( To be fair, in Portugal we don't have Halloween (well, not officially, anyway) or Thanksgiving, so it's a bit harder to set "checkpoints", as it were.
I am already thinking of presents, though! =p
