Also, swap partner--one of the items was sent to me not as described (as I see others are having the same problem, too). I packed it up and sent it along to try to stick to the deadline, but i have a replacement for you on the way to me, too.

I'm starting to get nervous. I wonder if I did enough for my partner. :(

awwwww I am sure you did perfect...just keep in mind there were two swaps this year and both had different amounts. So we will be seeing photos from both swaps..the 20.00 one and the 40.00 one. The most important thing about the swaps to me is the friendship involved...and the thought of doing something for someone else that loves ponies just like you.

Thanks, Tula - that made me feel a bit better. It's my first swap and I wanted to make it a good one.

Yea I know I remember my first swap you are not alone there.

it says my partner received their box on saturday... according to the DC, but I haven't seen anything about them getting it, hope it didn't get lost :(

I wouldn't worry too much Novavelle, maybe your partner has to do what I do. I have all my packages sent to my neighborhood shipping company so they are safe from being stolen off my porch. I only had to lose one item to realize that all my stuff can't come to the house. My shipping company is closed to the public on the weekends and sadly they don't get mail until after they close to the public on Mondays LOL. So I usually check for mail on Tuesdays. Lots of people have to go get their mail. Even my mom does this in her city rather than get stuff at her house directly. I am sure too that with family coming in for some folks this week...maybe your partner has it but hasn't had the chance yet to let you know. This happened to me once a swap partner of mine had a sick mom and got my stuff but was at the hospital with her mom two days in a row and I didn't know what was going on with her package. So I bet there is a logical reason...

I just picked my box up this morning and posted it on the brag thread...whooo hoooo how much fun is this!!!!

Swap box(es) received today! I will not be opening them til Dec. 24th though. So no brags til then. Sorry Secret Santa. I like to have packages to unwrap on Christmas and since my husband refuses to wrap things... you're it! lol.

I know how you feel, I do the wrapping of presents around here. Not like I have a choice its not like my husband will do it either. :p

I won't be able to wait to unwrap mine. people that can wait have superb patience! ;) my husband has no problem wrapping gifts, though he'd prefer to stick them in a gift bag (lmao - but I had to teach him how to use tissue paper!). he does wrap better than I do, though. (and I apologize to my swap partner for this... I suck at wrapping, but I figure as long as it covers up what's inside, that's all that counts!)

There is no possible way I could ever resist a package that showed up at my house before Christmas LOL. I am the worst when it comes to that. It drives me crazy wondering what it inside of it. I can't take the stress LOL. My husband doesn't like wrapping because he says he does a terrible job..I told him it didn't matter and pushed the rolls of paper in his lap and said better get busy LOL. I also buy him the boxes that have pictures so he doesn't have to wrap everything LOL. He doesn't get by with not wrapping though. Who cares what it looks like you are going to tear into it anyway. LOL

when mine arrives, I'm going to tear into it... I can't wait either :p

Well, I guess my Christmas package patience was learned as a child when we always received many packages from out of town grandparents and aunts and uncles. We would get all the wrapped packages out of the boxes and put them under the tree as they were delivered. I can remember looking at them with longing and having discussions with my sister about what we might be getting. Then the week leading up to Christmas our parents would let us each open one out of town present each night for the last few days before Christmas. So, yeah. It's not easy, but the anticipation of what might be in those fun little packages is half the excitement!

My experience was entirely different. I have a very small family and we are far-flung, so holidays were with my nuclear family only. Gifts were usually wrapped the week of Christmas (if not Christmas Eve) and we had enough pets to keep us from putting anything under the tree, so we did not have to wait long.

Besides, I guess I consider things not from the family as fair game!

My family is a little different. We don't open packages over at our house we go over to my in laws house to unwrap presents from them. I could say any present over here that doesn't belong to them is fair game. However, I thought it would be nice to open up any packages that come here that aren't from them the day before the Holidays. :)
