You might remember the "About a pony" swap we had before. Well... this is a repeat of a great, simple swap!

How does it work? Everyone will send/get *one* pony from their wishlist, and the swap package extras/contents will revolve around a pony. Example: If you get someone Posey, you will get wrapping paper with flowers or in Posey's colors, a card with the theme, and maybe some flowers or candy or something reminiscing of Posey. The goal is to make the whole package about the pony. This will also address fears of other members who have mentioned they are nervous of joining a swap because they fear they won't be able to go out of their way and overspend. This is not about overspending, it should be very simple and run smoothly!

There will be 2 categories: Standard and HTF (since some members have tougher wishlists with more expensive ponies in them). You can enter both (send and receive one standard and one HTF package), or just one.

Rules:
  • There is spending range in this swap. For Standard category, it is $6-$10. For HTF category, it is $25-$30. The pony must be within that price range, so everyone spends the same amount of money.
  • You must add some extras that relate to the pony in question. It can be in the form of art, a homemade thing, some sort of extra that relates to the pony's symbol or colors, etc. Be creative! The extras spending limit is $6.00, and should be no less than $3.
  • You must include a pony in the package.
  • All items must be wrapped. Think about it... how FUN is it to unwrap gifts?
  • Delivery confirmation or receipt of sending is required! This way if something is lost, we're not mad at you, but it will be the post office's fault. For international shipping, as long as you keep proof of postage, you are OK.
  • When shopping for the pony, keep in mind that it should be in as near MINT condition as possible! Send a package that you would be thrilled to receive yourself.

General Swap Rules:
* Active MLPTP Membership 1 month
* Post count 50+
* Great feedback, with at least 5 good feedback points here or in another forum. If you only have ebay feedback, you must have feedback selling, not just buying. If you are entering the HTF category, you will need at least 7 good feedback points.
*You must not have any negative feedback on your feedback profile.
* Over 16 ( This requirement may be waived providing there are exceptional circumstances or a sponsor can be provided. PM me if you're under 16 and you'd like to enter so we can chat about it.)

  • Will you ship internationally?
  • Which category would you like to join? Standard, HTF, or both?

Step 2: The wishlists

*Once you're accepted into the swap, post your wantlist here: http://www.mlptp.net/forums/wishing-well/96711-about-pony-swap-part-2-wishlists.html
*Wishlists need to be for at least 12 ponies (or more), or at least close if you can only think of, say 10. Please be sure to list those ponies that fit within the spending limits. If you wish to price check please post in discussion.
*Let us know which flaws are totally unacceptable to you.
*Let us know which flaws are ok with you.
*List any allergies you might have, as well as your likes or dislikes. Since sending extras is part of this, you want to make sure you receive something you will thoroughly enjoy.

You must PM me when:
- You have any questions.
- You want to sign up.
- You mail your package (you must include tracking info)
- You receive your goodies
- Whenever there are any issues or delays. I understand real life might play tricks on you, and that's OK, just keep me posted so nobody freaks out.

( I do not have high hopes given the fact that it took me 3 tries to spell "the" XD freaking iPad!)

::edit:: for the standard level does it HAVE to be $6-$10? I'm mostly interested in g3s and those don't always get up to $6 you know?

You're right, ristvak. I think we can do one of two things:

1. If someone else is only after G3s that are on the $3-$5 range, I'll pair you up with that person.
2. If every pony on your wishlist is in that range, I'll have your partner pick two ponies for you, but make the package about one of those ponies.

So if anyone else wants to join but only collects G3s, go ahead! We'll make it work :)
 
Mkay ^_^ I know the value levels are there so everyone spends the same, but I'm realistic so I also know I'll probably spend more on ponies than what I get in return haha. If nothing else the box could revolve around one pony and then my partner could toss in an Island Rainbow (my g3 army pony) to balance out the value hehe.
 
This sounds like a swap that I could do! But...I think I'll wait until I actually have the money on hand, to avoid any last minute "omg, I'm broke!" moments.
 
What a great idea! I have to finish getting my wishlist together....I'd love to participate!

(is there a minimum of feedback you need? So far, I only have ebay FB....I've done one trade [in progress] and one purchase [completed] here, though)
 
Oh, I'm so tempted to do this! I think I'll send my pm tomorrow when I have time :)
 
I've got a rough wish list narrowed down but looking over my main one i KNOW I have some of these ponies. Ugh. I'm going to dig around tonight/tomorrow and make sure that my swap wish list ones aren't already in my house somewhere. *grumbles about her lack of organizational skills*

I really love this idea... but I'm concerned about finding a pony locally that is actually on someone's wish list. Three weeks might not be long enough if a pony needed to be purchased online, shipped here, and then packaged and shipped out by the international deadline. :( What happens if one of the ponies on your assigned partners wishlist can't be located locally?
 
Whoah - I remember this swap! I LOVED it! It was probably the funnest swap I was ever in. ^-^

I haven't done a swap in forever, and I SO miss them!

But the thing is, I don't sell things on ebay. I only buy, and I've been there since 1999. My feedback for buying is perfect. :( It's too bad; I really wanted to participate.
