Went to my local indoor flea market today and found two G3 Mc Donald ponies for 50 cents (both came together in a bag)and Twinkles the cat for 99 cents!! :D :D 8)

The MC Donald ponies are in great condition aside from some paint wear on their tails. Both had badly matted hair, but I soon fixed it by wetting it and combing and brushing it into shape. They may be fairly new ponies, but their hair sure didn't look like it. One of them even has some slight frizz starting on the end. But I don't care. I'm not a picky collector. I'm not into the G3 ponies, but I couldn't pass them up. Now I'm glad I got them. They're really pretty.

Twinkles was the really big find. He was randomly placed in a sack full of old odds and ends toys (Twinkles was the only thing worth keeping out of it). At first I didn't know if it was him or not, but as I looked closer I saw that it was indeed him! The only bad part is that the top part of his left ear has been chewed off and there's a slight teeth print on his forehead. :( I was kinda disappointed with that, but oh well. At least I can mark him off my wanted list now. I may find another one in better condition in the future, but for now at least I have one. He does have a few whiskers worn off too, but other than that and his chewed ear he looks really great (had to wash all the dirt off too).

Can someone tell me something? All of the photos I've seen of Twinkles on the net shows his color to be goldenrod yellow, but mine looks orange. Is there a variation of him that's orange or is this a normal color that Twinkles usually discolors to over the years? :?: Or is it just the photos on the net that make him look yellow/gold? I was just curious. This is the first time I've seen a Twinkles in person so I am unfamiliar with his color.

I'll try to get some photos up of my finds tomorrow. My digital camera will only take good photos in sunlight, so I have to wait. lol!

Congrats! Nothing wrong with a nibble. My Brandy has her tail nibbled off. And the sad part is, I'm the one that did it. I think I was 3 or 4 at the time.

Maybe you could sculpy a new ear. Off to go try it out on Brandy now.

Twinkles

I have two Twinkles - and they look a bit different.
The first one I had is made of a heavy rubbery like plastic, and is yellowy orange, but the other one is made of a brittle feeling plastic and is orange.

Thanks for the info. Mine's plastic doesn't really feel brittle. It just feels like a heavy plastic. When you pick him up he feels solid, but if you press on him (like his tail or feet) he feels soft. Kinda like the way you described your first one, although mine's orange instead of the yellowy orange.

Very interesting, but I'm glad to know that now. Thanks again. :D I was kinda wondering why mine was orange and the ones I've seen online were yellowy.

Alright, here is a photo of my finds (sorry if it looks blurry. It's the best my camera could do): http://www.imagecrown.com/images/CkyFett/ponies7.jpg
