I thought I'd update my style to be more horse-like. The pose here is basically a direct copy of a (proportionally accurate) toy horse picture I found online, but do you have any suggestions as to how I can improve? (I normally draw my pictures without copying, but I'm trying to create a new style, so I will be copying the first few times.) The second picture is an example of my current style (probably won't completely get rid of it); the pony in it is NOT mine; she's someone else's OC. Sorry for the run-on.

Your drwaings looks great! And great way to start :) If you wanna try to make your style more horse-style maybe try to make more longer and slender legs and also more longer back and neck. But really you just have to practise and find your own way. That way you will find your style ;)
Good luck and happy drawing times!

Cute! She has such a g2 feel to me. I love adding different proportions to styles and drawing ponies with different pony types
Thanks! My pony art style changes a lot depending on what I feel like drawing, G2 being my main inspiration.

Thank you! I'll try to do that. I actually used a foal as reference when I did it, so that's why she looks a little different.

That looks really good! :lolpony: If I were to add any critique it would be that front leg closest to the viewer. It looks too long compared to the other front leg. (the back legs have a similar problem, but it's not as obvious) Also, if you want to make the style more horse-like, horses have a larger, more barrel-like chest and a more rectangular body. However as someone who regularly and purposely draws ponies like they have a cat's skeleton instead of a horses I'll readily admit this is nitpicking. Other than those two small things you have a really solid style in the works and I'm sure I'm not the only one looking forward to seeing more! :satisfied:

@BrightIdea Thanks! I haven't drawn ponies in a while (abstract art has recently caught my attention), but I'll keep that in mind for when I start up again!
