I wanted to ask real quick if the luck of the Irish cards have to be overtly st. patty's day themed, or do they just have to have green & gold somewhere in them?

No, just green, gold, and shamrocks. If you want them totally St. Patrick's Day that is fine with me, but they don't have to be.

Spirited_WingedHorses had a very good suggestion for everyone. Please try to put your cards into some type of card sleeve or something along those lines. I know the weather in Oregon is nothing but rain and snow for the foreseeable future as I'm sure much of the rest of the country is, too. I would hate for someone's cards to arrive ruined because of water damage. I will send them back out in whatever protection they arrive in. Thanks and I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!
 
i already scanned them. just need to add postage and i can get them mailed out sometime this week.
 
I decided I may as well sign up for the flower swap as well since I'm almost finished with my luck of the Irish cards. I'll take cherry blossoms as my flower and put me down for 5 cards, but I *might* make more.

No, you don't need to tell me that you signed up for the April Flowers swap. I changed the title so anybody that hasn't already signed up can do so.

I received your cards last night and they are super cute! You win the prize for getting your cards in first. I will send it with your Luck of the Irish cards.
 
I hope I am reading this right and I'm not too late for sign ups for the April Showers swap? I am just a touch under one month old at the moment, but I already have a handful of positive feedback here on the forum so hopefully that will qualify me to be eligible?

Wlecome, Locket! No, you are not too late. Sign-ups end on the 8th. You are more than welcome to join the swap. What flower would you like to use? I have a list of the ones everyone has chosen in the second post (they are in bold). Please make sure you choose a different one and let me know so I can add that to the list.

Also, what kind of paper do people usually make these cards out of? I'm assuming probably something a bit sturdier than printer paper? So like sketch book paper or I was thinking maybe sticker paper stuck to post board or something to make it thicker?

You ATC swap people, what have you used before?
 
Aha! A question I can answer!!

For the first ATC swap I participated in, I used printer paper mounted on the cardboard from a cereal box.

This time around I'm using Bristol Board, which is a thicker paper like cardstock :)

i got mine mailed out monday afternoon. you should hopefully get it before the end of the week.

i used white paper and glue the atc onto a decorative paper or solid color paper for the back. its up to you how thin or thick you want the card to be or how sturdy or flexible.

Locket, the first couple of swaps I did I used plain old printer paper. When I saw what everyone else's was on, I upgraded to cardstock. And as babyblueducky and ichigo said, you decide how thick or thin you would like your cards to be. I will be using cardstock again.

I know, another double post... sorry!

I am sorry I didn't get a chance to post earlier. I have been dealing with a family issue the last couple of days. The April Showers Bring May Flowers swap is now in working mode. I will PM everyone with reminders and such momentarily.

ETA: I will be out of town from Friday morning until Sunday evening. I won't be able to get online until Monday. Also, I received BBD's cards today. They are so cute! I will update the list.
