*Dons hosting crown for a moment* I thought since the awesome LadyPhoenix9 has stepped down as ATC Swapmistress, that I would give this a go.

There are two groups to choose from; The Luck Of the Irish group and the April Showers Bring May Flowers group. You may participate in one or both. They each have a different sign-up and ending date.

What is an ATC Swap?
ATC stands for Artist Trading Card. ATCs are small pieces of original artwork. The idea is to swap cards to show off your art skills and make new friends. The only limitation on ATCs is the size: 2.5x3.5 inches or 64x89mm and generally a flat surface (although you can add beads, fold out panels, or pop up elements for 3D effects.) Since this is a MLP community, the art should also tie into ponies in some fashion.

How does the swap work?
~ Post in the thread or PM me if you're interested in joining one or both swap groups. To join, you should have been at the TP a minimum of one month and have no negative feedback within the last year.
~ I'll send out reminder PMs with my mailing address and any extra info not included in the thread after sign-ups close. Feel free to work on your cards before this! Pretty much everything you need to know to get started is in the thread.
~ Make digital backups of your finished cards before you mail them! This an extra insurance policy if your cards become MIA. I had a set go missing and it was not a happy thing for me.
~ Once you finish your cards, mail them to me for redistribution. I'll be in touch with anyone whose cards do not arrive by the deadline to utilize those digital backups.
~ All cards that arrive will be redistributed and mailed out to the other participants.
~ The organizer leaves feedback for the participants and makes sure everyone receives their cards.

I'm outside the US/Canada; can I participate?
I personally have no problem mailing overseas, as long as you can get your cards turned in by the deadline.

I sent my cards but they must have gotten lost in the mail. What happens now?
This is where the digital backups come in handy. If you have your backups and can send them to me to print out, you can still participate in the swap. Don't worry, I'll let you know if your cards aren't here at the cutoff point so this won't be a surprise.

How is feedback rated for this swap?
Positive feedback will be left for everyone who completes the swap.
Neutral feedback will be left if you pulled out before the deadline or if mailing issues prevented your cards from arriving at all. (The latter shouldn't be a problem if you make digital copies. )
Negative feedback is left if your cards don't arrive via snail mail or digital copies, you drop off the face of the earth, stop answering PMs, and turn in zero signs of work.

The Groups

~The Luck of the Irish (Short Swap)- This group has to do with St. Patrick's Day. Your cards must incorperate the colors green and gold and have shamrocks somewhere in the picture. (Glitter will earn you extra pony points!) Sign-ups for this group will end on Wednesday February 23. Cards will be due to me by Saturday, March 19 and I will try my hardest to have them mailed back out by Monday March 21. This is a short amount of time, I know. You may sign up to make as a many cards as you would like. Most people make between 5 and 10.

~April Showers Bring May Flowers (Long Swap)- This group has to do with flowers, any and all flowers! Each of your cards must use the same flower. I will ask you to sign up with a specific flower. I would like to see everyone use a different flower. Sign-ups for this group will be March 1-March 8. Cards will be due to me by Friday Arpil 29 and I will mail them back out by Monday, May 2. Again, let me know how many cards you would like to make.


When you sign up, please include any favorite ponies for personalization's sake. You do not have to personalize your cards, some people enjoy making certain cards for certain people. If you do make a card for a certain person, please indicate somehow who it is for so I can get it to the right person. To help with costs for me (things are a little tight right now), please include a SASE with your cards or I will accept stamps, money for postage, ATC cards, and stickers. First person to send me their cards will receive a little something special in their return package!

I have a question! Since you said for the flower one, that you want to see different flowers, does that mean different ones of your chosen flower or different flowers tectonically, like Violets and Daffodils?

@ Spirited_WingedHorses- I would like everyone to have a different flower. You may draw the same flower for all your cards or you may choose a certain type (ie. roses) and do different combos of that flower (ie. bouquets, single flower, different colors, sizes, etc.) Does that answer your question?

@ Stormy- You do not have to tell us what your cards will look like. That is part of the fun of an ATC swap. You never know what everyone else's cards will look like! Just remember the conditions of each group. I would suggest looking at the links to Lev_21n01's, babyblueducky's, and LadyPhoenix9's albums of ATC cards to get inspiration. They are in the first post. Also, which group do you want to do? Just let me know and I will add you.

Well, I seen where other people were talking about the ponies/flowers they were going to use or something... Is that what they're going to do, or their likes? Also, yes, I did check those out... ;~; I hope my art skills are good enough!

Also, sign me up for the Luck of the Irish one. :D I like clovers and shamrocks! <3 <3 Plus I've already put it in my datebook to go and get materials.

Just the May Flowers swap for me this time, with five cards. I'd like violets as my flower!

My fave ponies: G1 Wind Whistler, Cloud Puff, Rapunzel, all sparkle ponies; G3 Kimono, Star Catcher, Snowflake, Starsong. If you feel adventurous I'd love to see some art of Una Pegassus, who is my favorite custom pony, or Khamsin, my persona.

Depending on how things go at work and how busy I am, or not, I would *like* to do one card for everyone in the flower swap. I'm just paranoid on making the mailing date after not having to worry about it for so long. So put me down for five and then we'll see how ambitious I am. ;)

Stormy, I usually look at the list of likes everyone posted and try to do some ponies I've never done before. On some of the swaps -- I'm thinking of lev's candy ponies in particular -- they aren't identifiable MLPs but ponies that go with the theme. (That Reese's pony she drew makes my mouth water just thinking about it!)

Yes, you can do digital art. You can use line art (which is what I do b/c I can't draw) or free hand it. It doesn't really matter to me. And I noted that you wanted to do 5.
 
Ooh, I promised myself I would get into ATC swaps again - here's my chance!

I'd love to join both :)

For the Irish swap, I'm cool with any pony being incorporated.

Here are my favorites that I'd love to see incorporated in the Flower swap:

G1 - Rainbow Babies (especially Starbow), Summer Wings, Starglow, Firefly, Sugarberry, any Merry-Go-Round pony

G4 - All except Fluttershy - my #1 fave is Rainbow Dash :)

Other than that I suppose I'll leave it open to interpretation!

I'd like to do one card for everyone in each swap.

My cards will use Tulips.

Ooh I can't wait :D

would you believe me if i said i was already done with my flower cards? my lineart is done for the st pattys, just need to color.
 
LOL, I believe it, BBD!

I have my outlines about half done for my ponies. I'm making 9 outlines; I'll see what they look like and pick the best. Not sure yet how I'll get the flowers in there -- I was having too much fun sketching poses and looking at horse pictures. 8)
