My sweet daughter isn't very good at cleaning up after herself. It's not really unusual or surprising. I'm so ocd. I've got her mattress on the floor in my room, so it's easier to safely wake her up in the mornings for school. There's a nightstand by the head of her bed that she tends to leave cluttered. You need to go across her mattress to reach it. There were food dishes in particular that I couldn't stand anymore. So, I've been doing pretty well and decided to clean. Such a mistake. At the end of her bed, my left foot slipped off the mattress and landed hard on the floor. It jarred my neck so hard that my left arm lost feeling until late this morning. I feel so stupid! No matter how careful I am, I always manage to have these little accidents. All day today I've been paying for it, and it looks like tomorrow will be the same. I'm a bed slug, again. I see my surgeon for the next follow up on Monday, yes Christmas eve, and I'll let him know what happened. I'm so bad at this "rest and recover". o_O

On a completely different thought, my mother got her puppy yesterday. An 8 week old bernese mountain dog. They named her Zoe and she is, of course, an adorable fuzzball. She weighs 13.5 lbs to my Wesley's 14 lbs. He only weighed 3.5 lbs when I brought him home at the same age. Does that mean Zoe will end up 140 lbs?

lol :p I can't access much brain power right now. I dedicated too much of it to pain management.

Pooh! We need to secure you in bubble wrap!!

Ahh!!! Berners are the most adorable puppies. My aunt has had several through the years. She’s very active in the Berner community and show rings. :/
But they are big teddy bears fully grown. Just wish they had longer life expectancy, 5-7 years is never enough for any dog. :,(

    Bubble wrap and spacefoam pillows.

Bernese Mt. Dogs are gorgeous and pretty big dogs. It is sucky about their life expectancy. They were meant to pull carts and friendliness was a requisite for greeting their owner's customers.

Sounds like you need to adapt my house rule of "no food in bedrooms at all".

I've found snuck snacks under my kids' bed still and I tell them that's how you get mice, roaches and ants x.x

I just straight up tell them the consequences of not following standard rules

Now brushing teeth, let's just say they now think the consequences of not brushing are much worse than brushing

Goodness lady, maybe also fill your home with packaging peanuts. Let us know how the follow up goes. Hopefully, this was just minor set back, because for the most part it sounded as though you have been healing well.

I wish I had more friends with pets I could visit. Puppies and kitties are super fun.

Today went well. My doctor is going to send me to pt (ugh) for my lower back. It'll be 20 years since I injured it this coming June. My neck is sore, but just muscular and the normal course of healing. My back may be something that can be helped by surgical fusion as well. My left leg goes numb periodically.

At least you didn't damage yourself too badly, Tak. We're gonna have to put you in a giant hamster ball at this point, you're a menace to yourself! :D

(and I can't talk, I messed up my right knee, trying to overcompensate for the left one being so messed up. We'll need adjoining rubber rooms for our own safety)

I feel pretty ugh about PT as well. I injured my shoulder a month ago, during a search last month and it's not much better. Muscles sometimes take a long time to heal and it's hard on those of us that are anxious to get up and get stuff done. Happy to hear it went well though, you're on the mend.

I've been in and out of pt for one thing or another since kindergarten. I've done all the exercises for pretty much everything. Neck, abdominal, chest, upper back, lower back, hips, knees, shoulders, wrists, ankles, hands, feet, pelvic floor, and even eyes. I really don't know if there are any exercises left to learn. It's just redundant now. I even have toe exercises.

    I'll get through this. o_O
