So. Tomorrow I get to have to big lymph nodes in my thyroid biopsied by fine needle aspiration, fna. My service dog just had a surgery and can't work until he's healed in hopefully another 6 weeks. My daughter I asked if she wanted to go and she hates needles so said "Ewing, no mom, please, it's gonna be so gross". My father will drive since I'm not allowed to drive myself home after. My caregiver is, once again, unable to help. My only friend has a work 12 days 6 days a week just to get by. Last year was horrible to her. So I get to go myself. I'm not worried about needles. Poke as many times as you want, makes no difference to me. My daily pain level is far higher than a silly little needle. I'm still nervous. I have hallucinations and really don't handle this hospital well. Too much history. My hallucinations are mostly like the imprints left by people experiencing strong negative feelings. It can be downright terrifying to hear, much less sight, scent, and the physical feel of them. I used to carry a twilight plushie with a hanger that I could clip her to my purse with. Last time I took her somewhere I noticed her entire head had busted open and I can't take her out now that she's had brain surgery and risk losing her. I've had the silly thing for 6 years. My new owl beanie boo clip is ok, but my daughter accidentally dropped and stepped on her while her ear was aching Sunday before her eardrum burst. She won't be clean in time. The grease needs hand washing before I send her through the machine. So, her I am just blathering along because I talk when I'm nervous. I'm trying to decide if I have someone I can take. My daughter has a 6" rd plush that she got when she was two and used to go everywhere.... I've got shadow whispers (my ponysona) with me as a tattoo. I'm just sad. We've been up, down, around, and pulled inside out between last Friday (my boy's surgery date) and today. Can you send some positive vibes out for me tomorrow. Freaking out during the biopsy would be bad and I'm not allowed to take my valium.
:skull:

I hope it all goes well and is as stressless as possible considering the circumstances. Here's to a super quick, painless, stress free procedure with good results!

Hey girlie, my thoughts are going to be with you. Its certainly no fun at all having to go through all the medical tests and procedures. Big hugs and know I am wishing you well. Yuki also sends you a Yuki Love Nugget which is a hug and a kiss that only a Japanese Chin can deliver. I know it sounds worse than it is. Its a name we came up for his sweet little efforts to cheer us up. Its sure to heal whatever ails you for at least a bit. LOL He would try to give you a Schipperke love nugget but he says he has no idea how to do those. ROFLOL Give little miss a hug too with those constant ear issues. Wish I could do more.

Thanks.

Hope everything went ok! Thinking about you :)

I feel like someone hit me in the neck. With a hammer. Hard.

When will you know the results, Tak?

I am not a fan of biopsy's. I had one on a mole. I htough they just stuck a needle in it but nope. They literally cut the whole thing out.

I should know by Monday, but planning on having it removed either way since it's been growing a while. The biopsy just determines if they take my whole thyroid.

I'm all swollen like a balloon right now and they said that wouldn't happen. it's hard to breathe.

I had a mole that literally turned blue @Tikibirds my sister had ripped off the one I was born with with her fingernails and it grew back bright blue. So my mom had them remove it. I was 9. It wasn't nasty. I've had bladder tumors for 15 years now and they biopsy every tumor when they remove them, plus my bladder every year. Oh, and they biopsied my esophagus for this swallowing issue last August. I'm just one of those lucky ones that gets all the fun stuff.

The endless biopsies and prodding must be grueling. I'm so sorry you have to go through it. I had over a hundred benign fibroid tumors inside, outside and with the walls of my uterus and it was just awful. They were mainly pea sized, with half a dozen or so golf ball sized ones and then a big Queen Tumor (as I jokingly called it) that was bigger than a grapefruit. It literally was agony. They ended up pretty much gutting me to get it all out and I still hurt from it all (mainly due to adhesions). I cringe with utmost sympathy when I hear of anyone having problems like this.

Yea my dad says the thyroid biopsy was worse than the liver one he had done. I am sorry you are feeling badly. I have had the bladder biopsies also. Man I hate those. I also have them on my stomach about every other year. ugggg I hate medical tests, so much so I stay home and away from doctors more than I should I guess. You are the bravest person I know Tak. Biggest hugs ever.

I'm sorry you had to go through all that. It sounds terrible. :xmashug:

Thanks @tulagirl it's all due to my girl. She wants me to stay around.

Well, I can still barely swallow, but the biopsy came back as normal. Hopefully my ent will figure something out. Also good news, my Wesley's culture came back ok. As long as there's no infections in the next week, he should be in the clear. He's acting like his normal happy self again and the stitches come out next week.

Oh I am so happy. This is what I was so hoping for. What fantastic news Tak. I am so happy about little Wesley too. I hope you feel better soon.

So... no surgery. Apparently my swallowing issue is caused by damage between the nerve/muscle signals due to my many concussions. No solution. I can try to improve my muscular control with physical therapy in the form of speech therapy.

My friend had a swallowing problem and she did like 6 months or longer of Speech Therapy and it helped her so much. It was very interesting what all she had to do, she also had to change her diet just a tad from choky foods to better foods for her to control until she got better. It was amazing the difference.
