Evelyn knows not to say them, but she slips up at home sometimes, so I've been teaching her them in French and German. That way if she slips at school, hopefully nobody will notice.

I'm not a good mom.

No need to say sorry @Ology My family is one great big steaming pile of offal. I still love them though. They're my offal. o_O The abuse my mom dishes out on my dad is immense. He just truly loves her so much that her takes it and somehow manages to bed a pleasant sociable person. It's amazing. I wish that we could all have someone love us so unconditionally. He lectures me, because he knows that if it came to a clash between my mother and I there would be a permanent split. Either they'd never see Evelyn again because I move across the country, or I'm dead and they have custody of her. He just doesn't want that to happen. When his mom died. It was just me living up here with him while my mom tried to sell the California house. I'd never seen my dad cry before, and I was the only one he had. He went to visit the week before she passed so at least he got to say goodbye. I was left alone in a haunted house in the middle of buttcrack nowhere for a whole week when I was 12. I had to take care of myself, the horses and the cats, including finding a ride to ballet. Thank goodness I was homeschooled. One of my worst concussions happened that week. Head butted by a 16 hand heavy weight horse. I lost days. I also got pushed do the stairs by the entity that resided upstairs. The house was condemned when we moved out and torn down. Then, just after Evelyn turned 3 my parents had only recently come back into my life and my dad's dad passed after a decade of suffering. My mother gave him no sympathy. He came to me and Evelyn to cry and then get ice cream. My mother and siblings didn't go to the memorial. I did. It really sucks that he is the mediator. It's hard on him, too. He wanted much more for me in life.

As long as she doesn't get in trouble. I also let her get the fame monster lady gaga, evolve by imagine dragons and cry baby by Melanie Martinez with her itunes gift card. Explicit lyrics and all. It's good music for th he most part. The next three on her list are Simon and garfunkel, Beatles, and the monkees. Have I mentioned that she wants to be a singer? My thought was that my parents had shown me nudity, lewd jokes, and all the cuss words before I was 9, so at least she didn't get the nudity or lewd jokes. Also, with how far into puberty she is, I think it would be wrong to keep some birds and bees information from her. Better she be properly armed with correct information. *shrugs* still feels like I'm doing it wrong no matter what I do.

I'm not either by some people's puritan standards, but let's face it the kids hear it everywhere. Hearing it from their parents and having it explained to them when and where its acceptable helps them understand a lot of social interactions and what is allowed with whom and when. I took my son to pagan festivals where everyone was butt naked, to renaissance faires where he learned to perform jigs and beg for money from tourists, to comic cons where he meet some of my best friends, many of whom are industry giants. Maybe he was exposed to things some would find 'wrong' or 'too adult' but I think the experiences really broadened his horizons.

Your dad is a trooper. Caring for a toxic person is very taxing, and obviously regardless of how she acts, he loves her and stands by her unconditionally. While that isn't necessarily healthy for him, I respect his loyalty.

I've always been honest with Evelyn when she asks questions. I just kept it simple when she was younger and added more details every time. My biggest reason for banning the nudity, sexual scenes, and lewdness before she understood what boys and girls like to do to each other, and all the other orientations out there is this. We watched a movie called "revenge of the nerds" when I was 4-5 years old. My sister was 7-8. She's the oldest. I don't know that you can call it actual molestation when it's done by a child, but what she did to me was that. I idolized her and always, always did what she told me until I was 11 or 12. She wanted to act out scenes from the movie. I'll just say that it severely warped my perceptions and I would be a very different person if I hadn't been subjected to her machinations. I didn't want Evelyn to be warped like that. She's already a rather atypical child in an unconventional family situation. As she got older and truly understood what making babies involved (thank you nature documentaries lol) I let her see what she's comfortable with.

I would be sad if you left. You're a delight!

Anyone who will put up with me is a keeper.

Not so much in my collection, but in the stuff I'm prepping for sale I think I have at least 6 Sundance ponies. I think they're opening the window at night to let additional Sundances in.

I have to say if I looked out my window and saw a bunch of pinkie pies headed towards my house in the darkness of night I would start screaming. I have never been fond of masks at all. The only ones I would wear happily as a child were those little masquerade half masks that just cover your eyes. They made them back in my childhood out of a satin like fabric and plastic. I had a pink one. I had a Snoopy costume with a mask but I found it really hot and just wore it on top of my head.

Like a nice mardi gras mask.
