Since I can’t do anything thanks to extremely low blood pressure and fainting the other day... I decided to do some work on ponies who have been waiting for a makeover or restoration.

Today I started with my Chief and Bow Tie (and Hippity Hop who is in the process of being de-flocked).
Chief needed his symbols repainted and his eyes fixed some and a re-root.
I started to deflock Hippity Hop that I picked up from a lot from @Skycakes who had a hair cut and lost flocking already.
And poor Bow Tie was a thrift find last weekend when @Cactusflower and I went pony hunting in Montreal. No pony left behind!! This girl had some terrible stains that wouldn’t go anywhere even with a lot of scrubbing and a week of sun fading... (didn’t have much hope in it). So I decided I would completely paint her when I found pearl paint at the art supply store in Montreal. :D (My baby pearl ponies need a mommy.)

Here’s my progress pictures of all ponies:

Looks good i can't wait to see your restores. Sorry your having a hard time right now. I hope things will get better soon for you.

Here’s my progress on Hippity Hop (after multiple soaks in hot water and oxiclean and two soaks with GooGone). My hands are killing me, so now she’s soaking in a hot bleach & oxi bath for a few hours. So close yet so far. D:

But on the up side, Bowtie is finished and I love how she turned out so much! I was thinking of selling her but now I live her. I decided to add a little bit of opal tinsel in her hair and it was just that little extra bit that she needed. So happy I was able to save this girl and give her a new lease on life. <3

And for Chief, I had to order hair for him so he’s just waiting for that to arrive.

they look like they are coming together. I would of never guessed to make a pearly pony out of some common ones thanks for the neat idea. :)

I just bought another surprise im gonna turn her into a pearly one so my baby has a mom.

I messed up, help!! :cry::cry::cry:

I left my Posey I was fixing up in a container where I keep all my hair, the sharpie from a bag of hair transferred on to her. Even though it’s fresh nothing is removing it, not goo gone, magic eraser, acetone ... nothing. :(

So, in order to save her, I’m thinking of making her a twice as fancy with glitter symbols. Do you guys think that would be the best way to save her? I’m so sad that I did this as she was my favourite restore I’ve been working on.

I'd imagine a sunfade would help out but taf symbols sound cool too...

ink does transfers on ponies even if its written on a bag. I remember someone complaining about that with the CustomPony hair. I usually try to be careful with baggies like that or I just throw them away.

I know, and I should’ve known better but didn’t think about it. Just wanted thing neat and tidy. That what I get for cleaning my crafting area up. lol

Ya, I don’t really want to sun fade because I’ve done her symbols already, so I don’t want to ruin them.

So annoyed with myself, I never thought the sharpie on the bag would transfer to my pony.
Luckly Posey is easy to find with faded symbols! But I think you can fix her. I'd either do a TAF design, or try to sunfade there.

Oh no!!
I recently faded a Baby Surprise with pretty good glitter, iirc I tried covering her two ways; two pieces of tape, the non-sticky side facing the symbol. Worked pretty well for protecting her glitter :D Another option is clear tape and painting over your symbol with the tape on top (you may risk losing loose glitter though! Tested both methods, both worked pretty well. Still may recommend the first method since Posey’s glitter here looks pretty ‘fresh’)

Ugh, that's the worst when it's your mistake. We've all been there, I know I've done it too but hopefully you'll come up with something. I can't believe it happened that fast! I'm sure whatever you do she will end up beautiful! Either way though, they're looking great! I love the pearly idea! Was it just a pearl clear type paint that you brushed over her? That would be great for restoring pearly sea ponies.....you got the wheels turning now :winkpony:

I may have broken the code. ;) It’s actually a white pearlized paint. Many very thin layers of it. o_O

Have you tried just plain rubbing alcohol on that sharpie? Otherwise I would try to sunfade her. You can cover her symbols with a strip or 2 of paper towel wrapped around her butt.

Turning her into a TAF might be fun. I think I like that idea, but I would try a sun fade first.

Don't feel so bad about the sharpie. You know what I did? Dummy that I am. I have a G3 coin bank/gum ball machine that I was cleaning up. When you push the button it plays the MLP theme. I was in a rush and started running water all over it, when I realized it was a bad idea. At first the music wouldn't play, but it seems to have recovered now.

At least I didn't use a magic eraser on my face again...
