Okay, so I have about 12 softies, babies included, whose hair I have just finished running through the straightener in order to knock out all the frizz. They all came out wonderful, but I know that the two babies' hair is supposed to be uber curly. I've got some little BS curlers here I was going to re-set them with, but I was curious about how long to leave them in for?

I know things like hair-spray are a big no-no due to the drying properties the alcohol in it has, but is water going to be enough to hold the curls? Lickety Split wasn't so bad, her curls were just unbrushable, but her hair isn't so dry. Baby Surprise, though, I am not sure what else I can do for her. I've got it straight, but it's still brittle to the touch.

Any ideas? Short of re-hairing, obviously, which I have neither the talent nor time for.

Slather their hair in a really good conditioner and leave it in for a few hours. That will help some of the dryness for Surprise. I would go to a salon and ask them for an extra-strength moisturizing one.

You can always boil perm their hair, which doesn't use any chemicals and should be pretty permanent.

And - I feel ya. I have the hair on all 3 softie babies to work with right now, and about 10 adults. I have procrastinated a long time, lol!

God, those Hasbro Softies' hair is the worst to deal with.

Let me just say- any kind of dry heat could be a big mistake. I was such an idiot- I washed mine in the washing machine in a pillowcase (to keep their plush looking nice as well as to keep the eyes from scratching.) I then placed them in the dryer on the lowest setting I have for about 10-15 minutes, and apparently that's either too much or the temp was too high- some of their hair melted together and is all matted and horrible. Dumb me, I guess I should have just let them air dry. Live and learn, I guess.

Next time I deal with them I'll do the good old fashioned foam curlers with damp hair, and let it set for 24 hours. Of course this probably won't hold long- if at all- for their hair.

Good luck though.

Well, I left Baby Surprise's hair in the little clip rollers over the last 24 hour period, and the curls came out looking great today. I'm doing Baby Lickety Split's now. I wish I knew why the Babies' hair frizzes SO badly! Every single one I've ever seen always looks totally wild.

Thanks for the advice! I wish I had some bigger rollers because the adults' hair could all use a little bounce, too.
