I have been just so temped to do this so badly I finally gave in and just went for it. I am sorry that some are kinda blurry. I have had phone camera issues but I got the pictures and after finally getting photobucket to work I just uploaded what I had. I will try for better one SOON.
Side note I also swapped out the tails.
I wanted to see what a older G4 pony would look like on a newer G4.5 body and vice versa.
So I bought one of the cheaper Rarity's and I had a older Rarity G4 sitting around.
In terms of head removal the G4.5 took more effort as the hole seems to be smaller.
The Older head on the newer body is a bobble head. I had to do a bit of moding to the head to get it on. I had to shave down the neck and use glue to hold it in place.
So the older head on the body if not glue on it will bobble and spin around.
The newer head on the older body is not too bad. It fit on ok. I did have to cut shave off a little plastic on the neck hole to get it to fit. It did fit tighter and her head turns fine.
Despite the horrible ( I just took all the Pill smile on Rarity face) I rather think the horn is better then the old style.
I think if Hasbro had the older head and body but with this updated horn it would be a good marriage of old and new. Maybe even the slightly thinner legs.
But below is my Rarity's and my joys of swapping heads
Scenes Silly me forgot to take before and after pictures. The 1st picture is a older Rarity next to a G4.5 Rarity however this is one from the fashion runway play set. The one I bought for the project is the one with the strange hoof placement one and came with glasses. So after this is the two with swaped heads.
